This is BY FAR THE BEST Chinese food ive had in all of NYC. Simple and so so flavorful. Everything I've tried is delicious. perfectly seasoned and never overly sweet or syrupy like the more americanized Chinese spots.. So far ive tried the eggplant, all the various potstickers, the kung pao chicken and the lo mein. Very affordable and delicious. Im a new fan and loyal customer ️ View all feedback.
What AJ C doesn't like about A-pou's Taste:
Don't trust the 4+ review. I got: weak Kung pao shrimp with lots of large celery chunks and no peanut; suspicious, soapy wonton soup in a bad broth; and fried rice that was mid at best. 2 stars for the potstickers View all feedback.
The pumpkin dumplings are absolutely stupid, I could eat 1000 of them. Doris is a god. Praise her. Great person.
The short Asian lady (owner) is extremely friendly. Home made food is great but i think the portion can be a bit more. Ask for the chil sauce; its quite unique.
This place is great. There isn’t another “cheap Chinese” place in the area that can compete for quality and cleanliness plus the owner/chef is just really kind.
Insanely good food with huge portions for an insanely low price. And the owner is the sweetest lady who always jokes around about charging me $800 instead of $8.
Perfect small shop. Accessible for all, no frills, and as homey as it gets. Sweetest lady in the world
