A delightful find in Brixham. This beautiful tapas restaurant has wonderful staff and offers a refreshing change from the typical fish and chip shops. Absolutely love it! View all feedback.
I must say, this place was shocking on every level. We had booked a table for a party of 8, including 3 children, at 8 o'clock and arrived on time. There were already two occupied tables outside. The restaurant is small and we were seated at a large table right by the entrance. It was cramped and uncomfortable, the seats were hard and the cushions were wet as if there had been a spill. There was not much space for the staff to move around. We placed our drink order first and then waited about 30 minutes to order our food. We waited and waited some more, and by 9:30 we were getting anxious as we still hadn't received any food. When we complained, the waitress was unhelpful and the waiter just apologized and promised our food was on its way. Finally, our food arrived in bits and pieces, with a few tapas dishes thrown in to keep us satisfied. The calamari tasted like it had come from a supermarket freezer, the broth sticks were tiny, and the olives were disappointing. The ham and cheeseboard was subpar, and the shrimp tasted off. We decided to cut our losses and go elsewhere to eat as it was 10 o'clock and the children still hadn't been fed. We only had to pay for the drinks, which seemed like a small price to pay for such a disappointing experience. We are not usually ones to complain, but we gave the owners every chance to make things right and it just got worse. Our patience was stretched to the limit. We were not the only disappointed table, as we spoke to other patrons outside who had a similar experience. One of the worst dining experiences we've ever had. Avoid this place at all costs.
We thoroughly enjoyed our two visits this year. The food was fantastic and the staff were very friendly. Although the restaurant is tucked away on a side street near the harbor, it is definitely worth seeking out.
Great authentic tapas and great hospitality. A must if you are in the area and well worth travelling to. We will be back asap.
