Friendly service and excellent food sourced locally keeps us coming back! They regularly change the menu so you can always try something different!

We booked for 4 at Joanto and were positively surprised by the clean dinning room, the efficient service and of course the dishes themselves. All inspired by the region and prepared with local products. Reasonable prices. Highly recommended even if located in a small village far from any city center around.

The first waiter then informed us that it was not available... read more The 5 of us had planned to have the lunch menu for Euros !3 advertised on a chalkboard on the wall. The first waiter then informed us that it was not available any longer.and the only menu available for lunch was an a la carte menu he gave us. We then opted for Fois gras fait maison, which was excellent. Then 4 of us chose Chipirons a la plancha. They were very good but just luke warm when they arrived as the plates were very cold, so a bit of a miss. The person who chose a piece of beef was served on a hot plate, however.

Full on a Sunday night... read more We came here for dinner from Biarritz after researching Michelin. Yes, we will drive that far for a good meal. And it did not dissapoint. Full on a Sunday night with locals and French tourists, the Restaurant is in a restored old Basque building with huge Windows looking out to the village and a back outside Patio area. Service was friendly and efficient. We loved our meat dishes and Dessert, and all was priced very reasonably with a menu Option. Afterwards we walked around the quaint village with wonderful White Basque architecture with ox-blood red Wood trimmings. So romantic. A wonderful getaway from the coast.

Excellent presentation, sophisticated but not fussy, very tasty, clean plates all round. Children's menu available. Good ambiance. They know their stuff but it's not intimidating in the slightest. Prices... 14euros main course for dinner.
