Long time eater, first time writer. First of all, everyone on here saying bad things, are wrong. As a frequent visitor of Yum Cha venues, The Manor is certainly one of the best. The food is delicious and the service is prompt. They go to extreme lengths to ensure anyone with seafood allergies is well catered for. David, the manager, is very welcoming and ensures a positive dining experience. If you are a yum cha fan,... View all feedback.
What Yessenia Walter doesn't like about The Manor Chinese Restaurant:
Good food but spoilt by other factors on my last visit a few years ago. On entering the restaurant, the manager saw us (an Indian family) and made rude monkey gestures to the kitchen staff while he greeted us. Felt like leaving then and there, but it was my brother's birthday dinner. We were also charged a public holiday surcharge, when there was no holiday. Can only hope this guy (thin face) is not working there any... View all feedback.
Family yum cha lunch today and we decide to come here as there are no sunny bench waiting and many parking spaces available. I order the dry fried meat ho fun and ten dim sum dishes. in the meantime we drink hot iron divine tee and chatter the beef ho fun is served first while the dim sum evaporates. the noodles are nicely fried, bark is tender and it is a generous portion. our running-of-the-mill yum cha meal is pleasant. service is very friendly and thanks to chef theny with phuong tran
Gather us little noodles for the chow mean that had no taste worst I had previously, so dry $60 for three dishes definitiw not worth, will not come back.
We enjoyed our dinner tonight. it's been a past since I came last. the employees have all changed, but they must say they are very much better service. the food standard remains as good as the old time. highly recommended for the late yum cha dinner.
After reading as many negative reviews as shown below, I felt very sorry for this restaurant. actually it was one of the Chinese restaurants that under the same administration in eight miles plains over 30 years. since the move to the current address from the shopping center eight mile plain, its strategy to serve authentic cantonese cuisine has its wonderfulness for a long time. due to the rush of overbraking other types of esswaren in brisbane, however, the management could not keep the eyes on any food outlet, then the service went with negative feedback. I wasn't one of them back, but tried to look back on the last Sunday. the first thing I felt was...read more
Used to be a favourite. After today's visit will never be back. Menu has changed, with many of my favourites removed, items that are still on the menu have not been available for the last three visits (spanning 3 months), and to top it all off, there was a cockroach discovered in a steamer basket after we had finished the meal. When brought to their attention, no apology was given, it was simply removed from the bill. Very sad to say goodbye to my favourite yum cha venue.
