I found The Kitty to be most disappointing. Self described as: "The Kitty has quickly established itself as a favourite meeting place for the city’s social trailblazers.....Classic cocktails are mixed and reimagined and top-shelf spirits flow...Kick back with a champagne cocktail on the river-facing balcony". I found it to be anything but fitting this description. I'm sure it's a hit with the under 30s casino crowd and maybe I've just moved on from distorted, music and sticky floors...
Good to come here for a late night snack, when having a night out at the casino. Variety of things to have, they were nice. Glad there is something open here.
How could a Crazy Cat Lady not be drawn to a place called the Kitty Bar?? Sure enough I've found this to be a handy spot for a transient beverage. Especially between 5pm - 7pm when basics are $5! Staff are friendly and patrons are demographically diverse. I like the different comfy rooms & areas with my fav being out on the veranda overlooking the lights of Southbank. There's complimentary canapés Friday nights but I haven't actually stayed for these or the bar food so can't vouch for them. One day perhaps. Meanwhile I can recommend the Long Island Iced Teas & Expresso Martinis. Meow! #makingcinoproud
Nice idea but poorly executed. Bite in Treasury tries to duplicate the fairly successful Bite in Jupiters Gold Coast, in that it is open most of the day until late and has a range of hot and cold fast food options including pies, salads, sandwiches, rolls, chips, battered fist, sushi etc. Have been there on 2 occasions since it opened and both were pretty disappointing. Service is good, but thats because they hardly have anyone to serve, though the fish and chips were barely edible ... soggy cold fish and the chips tasted like they had been sitting around for hours and were also soggy. The salads are ok, but seeing as they are taken from the salad tray and put into a container it was a shame you can't have a mix of different salads especially seeing as they are all the same price. The problem is that past the initial surge in people trying something new, the place is empty because quite honestly for the same price (if not a little cheaper) up the hallway is Kitchen at Treasury which offers similar food, freshly cooked, and of a much higher quality, plus slightly cheaper! The rolls look ok, but again are over priced. Too scared to try the sushi. If they cook the food freshly, and lower the fairly high prices, I think bite could be a success as a fast food quick snack option for those who don't want a sit down meal at the Kitchen up the hall.
Ordered a meal at 'bite ' Restaurant? in the Brisbane Casino. The chips and fish were rewarmed over from some time before,we know because the chips were floppy and the fish dry and leathery. The meal had not just been fresh cooked- anybody would have known the difference The salad however was fresh. Served on cardboard trays with plastic cutlery ?. When we complained they just shrugged their shoulders. Save your money -you can get a better meal at some backstreet grease joint. Disappointed doesn 't even come close Peter &Trixie-may Moss-(Pearl card members)(mystery Shoppers)
