What Sylvan Hintz doesn't like about The French Bistrot:
It has been six months since our last visit. With TheFork’s voucher we return for an updated review. Arriving at noon we are warmly greeted and shown to our table. Phuong Tran is soon sipping on her pretty Cosmopolitan while I place our lunch order. Lunch is served after minutes. Waitress Harriett is a gem and she makes delicious Cocktails too. The service is wonderful and this improves the overall score to a perfect View all feedback.
Good value for money to experience French cuisine with 50% off if you book via The Fork. We were pleasantly surprised by the generous serving size of all the dishes. Not sure about how authentically French they are, but we enjoyed every dish we ordered. Would highly recommend the Asiette gourmande, prosciutto, prawn, scallops, butter and baguette for Entree. The beef tartare is definitely one to remember and something we just couldn't get enough of.The finely diced beef fillet mixed with onion, capers, pickles simply had all the right flavours in it. The frites were also just a nice side to compliment with the protein. The Southern France Prawn linguine is rich, creamy and filling. Service was also good, although they seemed understaffed at front of house.
Bought a discount voucher on Scoopon- $60 for two (one shared platter, two mains and two drinks) Overall it’s very well valued for what we paid for! Pros: food was delicious and full of flavour! Wine was delicious too! The bistro was busy and it’s got a good atmosphere for a Friday dinner. Staff were friendly too. Cons: shared platter came quickly but we waited for a long time for our mains. Waiter totally forgot we ordered the wine but was quick to fix the problem. We picked a bad/ sunk in the middle table. We almost tipped our glasses a few times. Mains were about $30-$40 (normal price). I think it’s a little pricy for an average/ small portion sized main. If you could get deals online otherwise I won’t pay the same to come back.
I got 50% off form TheFork. The service was excellent, I went early 45mins of my booking, they also help me to arrange the table for us. The barramundi filler was good, risotto is strong cheese favours. I also order the porterhouses steak medium rare... but when cut in half you can see is medium well That why I can’t give 5 stars! The chicken with the mushroom is nice, but just warm, I think more hot is better. They’re cream brûlée’s is really yummy! Must try it^ ^
Went here for dinner last night and absolutely loved this place! The mood was so sweet and romantic we were extremely looked after by the staff. The food was delicious: we got a share platter for entree, then mussels and the clam pasta for mains. Everything came out quickly and was delightful! I got the panacotta for dessert and despite it not being like listed on the menu, it still tasted incredible! Loved this place and will definitely be back in the future!
