Some customers have complained about the lack of vegetarian/vegan options and inexperienced wait staff. Others have noted a decline in the quality of the food, with dishes being poorly presented and lacking in flavor. On the other hand, there have been positive experiences as well, such as the attentive staff going above and beyond to accommodate a customer who fell unwell, and efficient service during busy periods. Overall, it seems that while the atmosphere and views are top-notch, the consistency in food quality and service may be lacking.
We decided to visit the Summit restaurant after listening to the posting about the upcoming closure of the company, so we booked for a table for Sunday dinner. at the upper end of mt cootha parking can be difficult, while the busy periods, as well as a badly planned parking can challenge a place. we asked a table with good view and the staff was very courteous and paired us with a table at the window with a view of the cityscape the decor was classic and something dated. it was not too loud with a few other tables free to lunch we were offered options either the ala carte or curs meal options. we chose the cursor meal as it looked...read more
There were my Sis’ bday celebration. still my friends told me that they did not enjoy eating there, we decided to give him an attempt to eat was not too bad, but their customer service was below average. there was a man whose service was quite good, he was really nice and he welcomed us very polite. there was a woman who wasn't nice at all, but we thought very unfriendly. my whole family agrees the only good thing about our experience was that the dark chocolate drink was really nice. the intention was also breathtaking, but what is the point where food and customer service are not so good? unfortunately we will not be back.
The view at Summit is it’s only saving grace. My first experience here, some years ago, was absolutely amazing. Fine, delicate food, expertly matched seasonal menus and amazing service. Flash forward a few years and wow, what a disappointment. My delicious steak was covered in gravy which overpowered anything else on the plate. Meals lazily put together, no thought or love behind them. Such an obvious change in atmosphere, not sure if management has changed or the head chef has lost all love for what he does. Will not be coming back.
It is what it is. Skip the big occasion holidays and you’ll get predictably pleasant food and a nice view. But face it, you’re really there for the view.
I visited this restaurant for birthday and had a fantastic time. we came around pm and had the opportunity to make the sun set menu, that was great. it came with tomato and basilikum soup, artichoke linguini and dessert. they were all great. it was very quiet with a fantastic view of the city. the service was also very good and the staff was very friendly and attentive.
