My first thought when entering the restaurant was that it was a throwback to the 70's, and not in a good way....Tasteless fried rice, spring rolls and some curried dish were against one wall as a Buffett, and all these dishes looked to have been mauled by the patrons so only dregs were left....The main menu required queuing up with bowls where you were required to pick from frozen lamb, chicken or pork pieces, together... We had a very weird experience here. I never give bad reviews usually but i cant get passed this one. Firstly the staff are very friendly so ill give them that. No complaints there. Firstly, the hot food entrees you can go up and select were very average, cold hard chips and greasy spring rolls with some gelatine-type substance inside them, and cold chicken wings that i really didnt want to take another bite of.Thats ok, lets hit up the BBQ which is what we came here for.You get up and head to stands with all the meat and vegies to choose to add to your plate and have them cook. When we opened them up we were met with thousands of little flies/bugs buzzing around inside. We looked around horrified but all the other patrons didnt seem to notice or they didnt seem to care??? It was very obviously as there were flies buzzing around right infront of my eyes. We didnt know what to do! I told my wife that it should be ok once cooked, we didnt have the heart to complain to the staff and query them about the bugs. I added a few items which looked the least contaminated, added heaps of oil, and told the chef to cook it well done. After half a plate we decided to leave, very disapointed as we had heard great things about this place. I am sure this isnt a regular occourance, however I would steer clear of it altogther, we will not be going back.
We had not been to a Mongolian BBQ restaurant in ages, so we decided to give this place a try. It turned out to be a great choice. The service was very personal, the food was great and plentiful. The place is actually an all you can eat buffet. The chef was very animated with his cooking, which made the short wait for the food to be cooked more enjoyable. There were 4 choices of meat along with a wide variety of vegetables and other additions to the meat. There were many choices of sauce and spices to add flavor to the meal. If you are sensitive to hot spices, you might want to check with the chef before adding to your bowl something that might be hotter than you like. You have the option to go through the buffet line as often as you want, but we found one trip was sufficiently filling.
Dined here several times with family, staff are always courteous and happy to assist with birthday cakes. If all you can eat is your pleasure that this is certainly the place for you. Dishes are, as you assemble them with frozen shaved meats and vegetables then you add flavoured oils to taste then your dish is then cooked as you watch. Decor really needs some love and ambience is lacking.
Friend recommended this place for a dinner after work.Nice quiet atmosphere. Service was friendly and quick... sticky tablemats and cutlery though eek...Loved the bbq part of tge dinner haha... especially tastes great when all sauces are added! Didnt like the idea of handling the same serving spoons as every other tom, dick and harry but it's the price you pay lol...Wanted to try the desert menu which looked delicious but had other arrangements at that time.Overall nice quiet place to eat and catch up with friends and family... will definitely go again!
The concept is a good one - design your own dish and they will cook it for you. Finish that bowl and go again. I had two, which were both very nice (my own fault if I got the flavours wrong!). Tip: Don't be shy with the oils/sauces. Tastes even better when there's more. I also had a bowl of fried rice, but it was awful (half cooked rice) - stick to the BBQ dishes!!
