Went to Red Lotus on the Saturday, and had food envy at other dishes on other tables so we ended up coming back with an expanded group on the following Friday night! We had so many dishes over the two visits, and they were all very good, and prices are reasonable. We sat inside both nights as we figured there would be less road noise.Well recommended. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Red Lotus Vietnamese Annerley:
The food was good. The person serving us was objectionable. He ordered me to take my wine back to the car. I didn’t realise it wasn’t a BYO restaurant. I asked him to say please and he scathingly said please. After 80 minutes into our book club meeting he presented the bill and told us that we had an 80 minute table and must leave after we paid. There was no one waiting for our table. At no point were we told there w... View all feedback.
We went on Friday night and both of us just ended up having the standard pho. The bowls were large with plentiful servings. Having had plenty of pho in Inala in places in Tan Thanh, I can't say the one Red Lotus would match up to that standard, but it was good nonetheless. The beef was a little chewy for my liking, but the broth and noodles were nice. I also think they could have been a little more generous on the beansprouts.<br/ <br/ I also had the panan cremè bruleè. I would say that the sugar at the top was a little too soft and not as crunchy as you would expect when you first tap your spoon into it. The rest of the dessert was quite flavoursome though. It was small, which was the perfect size for me to finish off after a large pho dinner.<br/ <br/ The atmosphere and decor was nice and very clean. I also quite enjoyed reading the commentary as I perused the menu they gave us.
Food is consistently good; almost as good as Darra/Inala if pricier/more inventive menu. My children particularly love it. Downside is its popularity, leading to problems sometimes finding a table inside (its a narrow footpath outside on an unloveable corner). I'd avoid takeaway, the wait times can be long but most of all polystyrene and bags sap all the crisp energy from Vietnamese cuisine.
I 've been here a couple of times and have tried most of the items on the menu and this is as good as it gets for Vietnamese food. I love the beef noodle soup (pho) but I made the mistake of ordering the large size and I have to say 'my eyes were bigger than my stomach '. I really like the decoration with the red lotus flowers for lighting. This is definitely the place I go to when I crave Vietnamese food. And I have to mention, I love the lychee cider!
Amazing food with even better vegan and vegetarian options! Me and my girlfriend ordered their vegetable curry and a 'tofu ramen ' (can 't remember the exact name of the dish) and they were both AMAZING. quick service and reasonable priced food. Will defiantly become a regular visitor here.
My partner and I had an amazing meal at this restaurant! We may have ordered too much because we had to take leftovers home in doggy bags. The prices were so reasonable that we couldn't resist trying a variety of dishes. It's a fantastic place and I would definitely recommend it.
