Red k cafe brisbane cbd. k is for karaoke and not Korean and I admit that I thought the latter part before eating here. some places in the city that are worth discovering are not always so overhauled by a street view; pedestrians would be the best way to find them. this is an example that if it were not a sign that was in my sight when I would get money from a nearby money, I would have continued the road to elsewhere. in front of an important meeting I was looking for a fast food and with piqued interest, I looked at the sign and then the menu in the window with a good lunch offer: a selection of a meal from a selection plus a selection of a drink...read more
I was least impressed. on the one hand, this was for a work function and the timetable was for the guests at noon at 12:15. I insisted that 30 minutes were not good enough, as we still needed time to take the order to the place and serve the food. while the owner and the cook did as much as they could prepare our order as quickly as possible, it was still a frustrating inconvenience that they would have done better if they had informed us earlier.
I agree with the previous review - K stands for Karaoke and not Korean! At first, I was surprised to hear about karaoke at a reasonable price in Brisbane ($18 for 3 hours - with one free drink). Initially my impression was positive: - the computer system is quite responsive, with virtually no delay in skipping a song - songs are reasonably easy to search for - songs are reasonably updated After half an hour, things started to go worse: - some huge 2x2 inch pixels shown on some videos - there was no sound for some songs - the workaround was to change the volumn up or down -> then magically the music came back! And the biggest complaint was the aircon - it was WAY too strong and cold! If I only stay for an hour, I probably would not complain as much. However karaoke always lasts for 3 hours - imagine yourself in a refrigerator with limited movement for 3 hours! I looked for a staff and nicely asked if they can turn down the aircon a bit. The response was "no". Then I asked if I can have a glass of hot water to warm myself up - the response was a short yet impolite "Three dollars for hot water!" $3 for a glass of hot water?! I could not understand why - except they try to reap customers off. I ordered hot water not because I enjoy this beverage(it's just plain hot water anyway!), but more because I want to keep myself warm. This very basic request was rejected to a customer. And this is not the first terrible experience from Red K Cafe among my friends. My conclusion is: do not go to this karaoke if you hate bad customer service. I would not go back again
