What User doesn't like about Red Hut:
The waiter was eating his dinner when we walked in. After ten minutes, he was still eating his dinner!! We attempted to order some dishes from the mixed up menu including two vegetarian dishes. This was really difficult and so we ended up with the worst tasting bean curd and a plate of green vegetables. No drink was offered so none of the party dare ask. I would suggest that if you have some knowledge of Chinese, you... View all feedback.
My wife and I frequent this restaurant often. The food is consistently good, with only a few dishes being subpar. Our visit last night reaffirmed our belief that this is a fantastic place to enjoy delicious spicy Chinese cuisine, as long as one is not expecting fine dining. They have recently switched to a counter service model where customers must order and pay before their meal, but at least the food is brought to the table. While the atmosphere may not be particularly imaginative, the steady flow of students attests to the fact that the food is both good and reasonably priced.
This restaurant is a hidden gem in the heart of Spring Hill. They serve authentic and delicious Szechuan-style cuisine. Be sure to specify "no spice" when ordering, as even the medium level of spice was quite intense. The portions are huge and the staff is very friendly.
I'm not sure if Red Hat was too authentic for me or if I was too sensitive to msg, but I decided to choose from the menu instead of going with my friends' favorites, as they are regular customers.
Have eaten twice in the last week. absolutely authentic eating cooked to order. both super and the price. we recently ordered the dry hot pot served with a huge bowl of rice and as spicy as they all...for $48.
This place is a little out of the way from most things but is easy enough to get to if you have a car. The food here is truly authentic and delicious. We had a bit of difficulty communicating with the wait staff but they...were really nice and we did get what we asked for. Not many places in Brisbane serve clams but Red Hut serves normal clams and razor clams. This place is definitely worth visiting if you like Chinese food. It is only about a 10-minute drive from Sunnybank.
