Lovely find in Brisbane food was amazing we had the salmon and the pasta dishes. Both cooked beautifully . Our waitress was very attentive and looked after us. Atmosphere very friendly View all feedback.
What Demond Purdy doesn't like about Cicada:
One day you can order food just from the 'extra' section of the menu the next they will charge you a 'meal' price and state no you can't order just from the menu O o. Crazy, as I don't want to waste food I don't want to eat. 'Fine. I will not return than if that is the system' reply 'that's ok'. Seriously, what a joke. Be a service to the consumer or lose money. Not a bad little spot for breakfast. Really friendly with prompt service. Nicely cooked eggs and really nice tea, worth a visit.
My wife and have enjoyed going to this cafe for breakfast many times. Went again today and we were both very disappointed. My wife ordered the avocado smash deluxe and I ordered the mince. I don't know what was going on with the avocado but it included hash browns and a hollandaise sauce over a couple of eggs under which was some avocado - it looked more like eggs benedict but didn't look good at all and my wife just could't eat most of it. My mince was very average and not that tasty. I get the feeling that the ownership or the chef has changed as the menu has changed. Won't be going back again
I had a quite nice breakfast but ordered all components separately. Coffee was quite good and service was good.
The lunches are really tasty and very reasonable. Roasts are really good so are the variet of salads. Perfect place for meetings. Great staff service.
I had visited here for the first time with my sister a couple of months ago. I was impressed. So, I thought I'd give it another try, flying solo before a business meeting this time. I wasn't overly hungry, so I ordered the every so humble and often maligned croissant. This one came with ham, cheese and tomato croissant with a pot of English Breakfast tea with my obligatory soy milk. At a price of only $6 this has to be one of the best quality bargains I've had in a while. And for a true tomato lover, I was stoked to see the inclusive of tomato in the croissant. The croissant was very generously loaded with really good quality aged cheddar cheese, extra lean smoked ham and popping full of cheery tomatoes. Quite simply, it was the best croissant I've had at any eatery here in Brisbane. Usually, they are filled with very little 'plastic' type cheese and poor quality ham and definitely no tomatoes on offer! And similarly, they normally arrive soggy. This one arrived well toasted. In terms of service however, that would be my only mildly negative feedback. The wait staff weren't overly welcoming. But, I came for the food; and it ticked all the boxes for quality, price, quantity and of course freshness.
