Visiting from Melbourne. Had the Fererro No Share. Very tasty! $6 for a donut, but they're huge. Very filling and probably a bit too sweet for me to have very often, but I enjoyed it. Some of them are filled with custard, so I think they would a bit too much sugar for me. Cute shopfront. Not as good as my favourite donut brand (Doughboys in Melbourne), but it was a tasty treat. Also, they're supposed to open at 9am,... View all feedback.
What Jack Schultz doesn't like about Mister Fitz:
I found mister Fitz quite overrated. It looks great - the food, the interiors of the restaurant, the staff. However I found the food of terrible quality, almost tasteless. View all feedback.
Finally visited a doughnut time that had fresh and soft doughnuts. We had the vegan fairy bread, chai curious, and pretzel Hilton doughnuts - fave was the chai. Hubby had the Nutella.
I'm going to be honest, I don't know why people like Doughnut Time and/or how it's expanded so much and so quickly. The quick and simple way to describe most if not all of their offerings is "Sugar with sugar on extra sweet dough, and maybe a hint of some other too sweet ingredient". Please be aware I say this because I genuinely think all their doughnuts are SO crammed with sweet toppings and fillings that you can't taste much. The majority of the doughnuts we've had have actually been thanks to their generous promotional free doughnuts that they give in shopping malls, queen street and other places; but honestly, it's just not good, we always struggle to eat them, and we have a VERY sweet tooth. For the price? Don't bother, just find a local bakery and get a vanilla slice or something; even a five dollar coles cake will do the job. If you really want some especially flavoured doughnut then just go to Krispy Kreme.
The employees were friendly and knowledgeable about their City. Made the experience so enjoyable. Fresh & Delicious snack!???? Hugs from Canada!
I love doughnuts- especially those giant ones with heaps of toppings. I got 2 donuts to share with a friend. We opted for the golden gaytime and mars bar ones. The golden gaytime donut had a creamy filling, however the Mars bar one was a little dry and crumbly. Is it value for money? It's on the expensive side with $6.70 a donut.
DO NOT BUY THE GLUTEN FREE DOUGHNUTS!! I went here excited about the gluten free option but the product was almost inedible. For gluten free donuts I recommend Gluten Off at markets (made fresh and can't tell they are GF), Eat Street Markets and NoDo in newstead.
