I absolutely adore this restaurant, not only because it's conveniently close to my home, but also because the food is fantastic. The Italian garden, which I don't have at my own home, is a lovely spot to relax and enjoy a drink either by myself or with my children. The staff is always welcoming and friendly, making for a great dining experience. View all feedback.
What Tommy Coyne doesn't like about The Crescent:
I have eaten at this pub many times over the years and always enjoyed their food but have noticed a sharp decline in quality/VFM recently. Their fish and chips used to be excellent but not any more. To be charged £14.50 and then presented with the pictured dish was gobsmackingly disappointing. View all feedback.

The vegan nut roast was disappointing dry, flaky, not much taste to it and very salty. Served with pots and veg, including 2 whole beetroots. My friend had the chicken roast leg but no breast or stuffing.
Can't fault the roast here. No red cabbage, and green vegetables. Portion size is perfect, gravy is consistently good. great value for money....
The staff are lovely. The pub has a decent beer garden in the sun. The gents toilet could do with a bin as I couldn’t find anywhere to place a used napkin. I recommend this pub for a few drinks all year round. BUT… I wouldn’t recommend eating here. Visited April 2022 and the Sunday roast was very disappointing. Took 90mins+ to turn up and it just wasn’t good food. Brighton pubs are known for offering excellent roasts city wide sadly that isn’t the case at the Crescent. I haven’t sampled the midweek food offering but if I was management I would seriously address the Sunday roast offering as the rest of this pub is lovely. The owners and bar staff are attentive, chatty. I never write reviews online but it was such a let down the Roast I felt compelled to do so. I was going to tell the landlord directly on the Sunday but the ambience at the bar was so jolly I didn’t want to put a downer on the atmosphere. Hopefully things change. Take care all.
Nothing upsets me more than an awful Sunday roast. Especially when you are paying £15 for it. I am not sure if you guys get some new chef or the previous reviews were written by your mates or people who basically don't really care what they put in their mouth. I got the smallest size of chicken ever, the veg: hmmmm two roasties, done terribly pls don't call yourself a chef if you can not make a roasties !!! two broccoli stems and one small carrot...that was it !!! I mean really ?? look around you guys, so many divines Sunday roasts in Brighton !!! the only good thing was: an okay service. meg average place.
