This is a fantastic BBQ restaurant with delicious food. The chicken gumbo is outstanding. Everything is homemade, and the brisket sandwich was excellent, just like the carrot cake.

This place is just OK. The service we've had the two times we've eaten here has been excellent (same waiter). The brisket and pulled pork is good but nowhere near what you can get in a few places downtown Detroit if you are willing to make the drive. The pulled chicken I did not like, it just tasted not bad but odd, I can't really explain it. I can't speak to the ribs as I've not tried them. The sauces are good. The sides are the biggest disappointment and need a serious upgrade. The green beans are just bad. The fireroasted corn should be on the cob and a lot better. They need sweet potato fries. The other sides we've tried were just average to a little below. The mother clucker (chicken sandwich) is pretty bland. The kids menu needs better options that kids actually want to eat. The outdoor seating and live music is pretty nice if you get a nice day when they have that going on. Prices are too high for the quality of food you get (the sides). It's not exactly the same food options but you can get a lot better southern meal down the street at Bourbons for a little cheaper and the portions are two meals really. If you stick to the beef/pork and fries and want to enjoy a beer while listening to music then it's worth going.

The brisket was fantastic—absolutely delicious! I loved the House, Sweet Spicy, and Texas sauces; they were all really great! The ribs were tasty, and the salad was nice as well. It’s a lovely place with a great atmosphere.

If your thinking about it, don 't come here. It took forever to receive the food. When it arrived it was cold. I ordered flame roasted corn , now when you think of flame roasted corn, you thing of a nice warm corn on the cob right? No, I received a bowlof corn with more onion and green pepper than corn. Owners if your reading this, I want my corn. Anyway, the brisket was notgreat. Clearly not smoked and overall kinda tasteless. Not a great experience.
