Very good Thai food. Tried the curry and the pad Thai. It's not the best I had in my life but certainly one of the best I had in the UK. The room is spacious and romantic. Solid 4 stars. View all feedback.

I had spoken with them over the phone about vegan options, and they seemed confident that the chef could accommodate. However, once at the restaurant, I had my doubts. I ordered the jungle curry, which arrived in a small bowl with very few vegetables and was essentially just flavored water—not even good water. I attempted to use the rice to absorb it, but the dish was both bland and overly spicy. When I raised my concerns and pointed out that I had received a watery soup instead of a proper curry, the staff barely acknowledged me and simply stated that this was how it was meant to be served. When I expressed that I was not enjoying the dish, they just shrugged and walked away. Overall, the service was terrible, and the food was disappointing. What a shame.
Green Mango is an exquisite family run restaurant that is simply divine. The couple who run it (he's British, she's Thai) put their heart and soul into running a brilliant establishment that offers up Thai food with a twist. The thai fishcakes are the must have on the menu and the lunch time offerings are excellent. Great atmosphere and great food. One of the finest restaurants in Hove for my money.
The restaurant offers a charming and lively atmosphere on Saturday nights, drawing guests of all ages. The delightful and quirky vegetable carvings that accompany the dishes—such as squirrels, seagulls, swans, and flowers—are a playful touch. The food itself is both good and intriguing, with interesting chef's specials. This place is highly recommended for joyful birthdays and celebrations.
Green Mango is run by an English-Thai couple, Sebastian and Suchani, who fell in love in Thailand and wanted to bring the flavors of Suchani's homeland to Brighton and Hove. The restaurant has a simple, yet inviting decor, a refreshing contrast to some of the more extravagant local Thai establishments. It was quite busy on a Saturday night, which is often a good sign. I had made a reservation online, but there was a hiccup with their email system, so Sebastian sent me a text to confirm my booking, which I thought was a nice personal touch. Upon arrival, we ordered a bottle of Chilean Sauvignon Blanc, although I noticed they offered Thai cocktails that I'd love to try on another visit. My friend and I were so engrossed in conversation that the attentive waitstaff approached us three times before we had even glanced at the menu! The menu was extensive, featuring standard Thai dishes along with some unfamiliar options. They had a good selection of specials, making it tough to decide. We ultimately went for the mixed starter, which included the standard assortment of chicken satay, spring rolls, wontons, fish cakes, prawn toast, and crackers. It was tasty but nothing particularly unique. For my main course, I chose the Pregnant Squid, which sounded more intriguing than it actually was. It consisted of squid stuffed with minced prawns and chicken, served with peppers in a tamarind and chili sauce. It was delicious, but a bit challenging to eat with just a fork and spoon—I had to request a knife! My friend opted for the Pork Penang curry, which was also very tasty. The presentation of the food included impressive carrot sculptures shaped like seagulls, showcasing a delightful Thai-Hove fusion! We glanced at the dessert menu, but nothing really caught our eyes, and we were quite full anyway, so we decided to skip dessert. The bill took a bit longer to arrive, but that wasn't a major issue. While it might not be the cheapest Thai meal you'll find in Brighton and Hove, the quality of the food and the friendliness of the service made it a worthwhile experience. I'm glad I took a chance on this restaurant, and I hope you do too!
