Food portions were very large, well pres... read more Had many meals here over the summer and it was always good. Even when the restaurant was almost full, service was good. Food portions were very large, well presented and also excellent quality. It did not disappoint, and was considerably better than the hotel at...Giessbach. A terrace with table service outside, or a traditional Swiss restaurant inside, and with some good local foods too. We did not have one disappointing meal here, it was always good. Highly recommend it if you are in Brienz or nearby. Not the cheapest restaurant, but possibly the best food in the area.

We thought of a late Sunday dinner as we noticed a sign that the kitchen was open all afternoon. the restaurant was very busy with local, but we could get a win... read more We thought of a late Sunday dinner as we noticed a sign that the kitchen was open all afternoon. the restaurant was very busy with local, but we could get a window table that had just been extinguished. we had the waiter too. with the unmistakable haircut! service was excellent by all in the restaurant, appealing, welcoming and prompt. we enjoyed the green salad and the delicious cut calf meat in a cream sauce with rösti. the local white wine has compiled the dishes. the only “negative” was that eating was so wonderful and the portions were so great that we had no place for dessert! we wanted to come back the next afternoon to try something dessert, but on Monday they have a rest day. Instead we returned to lunch on Tuesday and it was nice to see and our weeping mission remembered! our second lunch of egli filet (fish) and a vegetarian rösti was also delicious. again we had no place for dessert! very recommended.
