Menu

Nestled in a charming locale, this cafe presents a mixed experience for diners. While patrons rave about the homemade afternoon tea and flavorful dishes, the inconsistency in service and menu options has raised concerns. Customers appreciate the airy ambiance and attentive staff, particularly during busy periods, but many have reported long wait times for simple meals and disheartening customer service encounters. Despite some delightful offerings like gluten-free choices and lively presentations, the cafe struggles to meet family-friendly expectations and timely service. Overall, while it has the potential to be a hidden gem, improvements in efficiency and menu variety could enhance its reputation.

Fabulous Xmas afternoon tea with mulled wine yesterday. Everything home made (even the jam), savouries as well as sweet and all so fresh. Beautifully presented with garnishes of fresh fruit, just top quality and better selection than I have ever had anywhere else. Great service as well. Well worth the money, can’t wait to go back. What Wales needs sun dislikes about Cedars Tearoom:
We came to Bryngarw Park for a few hours on a chilly autumn morning and stopped for a hot beverage after a woodland walk. The place is lovely and I’m a firm believer in ‘Buy Local’. My husband and I took our Mams there for Mother's Day (though we actually went on the Saturday! to have afternoon tea. First of all the sandwiches, slices of pie, three different types of cake, the scones with jam and clotted cream and all the fruit, were all delicious. There was also so much of it that we had to take lots away with us in boxes the lovely staff provided! The customer service was brilliant, friendly and attentive. We'll definitely be back. I understand they have over heads and staff wages but those prices will push customers away. If it were cheaper, we would of bought cakes etc. I would take a flask next time!
I have written food reviews for many tea rooms and restaurants over the years, and this tea room definitely ranks high on the list of places to try! The food is fresh and well-presented, with delicious flavors. The Piri Piri chicken is especially good on a chilly day if you enjoy hot and spicy foods. Regardless of your age, you are made to feel very welcome at this establishment, which is also accessible for disabled individuals.
