Why would they sprinkle the dumplings with cheese? And look st the amount of fat I had. I didn’t realise they put cheeses on eat otherwise I would have asked without. The filling with mushroom and truffles was good. Maybe they should ask the client if they want cheese on top. :

This place is superb, I really enjoyed the Chicken Satay Dumplings so good, totally moorish all served quickly and so so tasty.

So this is where we went for our date night. its real close to the hotel we were at and you can walk down to it from the novotel. now again i would say avoid the place on wembley event days. they do european and british food, pretty good cooking and they have options for kids to eat too.

The Ugly Duckling, located in the center of Dawlish on The Strand, has recently changed ownership and what a difference! The new owners, Chris and Catherine, are friendly, cheerful and accommodating. The staff is helpful and always smiling. We were there late on a Friday evening, having just returned home to Dawlish from two months out of town and having no food in the fridge, we decided to pop into The Ugly Duckling. We ordered the hand battered cod, which was incredibly light. No gooey coating here! It was obviously freshly prepared. For dessert, we had the homemade apple pie scrumptious and the treacle in custard. The custard had a yummy butterscotch tone and the treacle was perfect. The coffee was strong and served with real cream. While we were aware of The Ugly Duckling for quite a while, we had never eaten there before because of the foul attitude of the previous owner. What a lovely addition to the town to have such lovely people running this little bistro. They have even put out tables on the new walkway to enjoy the summer weather.
