What gramer999 likes about The Griffin:
This is an centuries old inn on the main road through town, so plenty of exposed timbers. But the building really could do with a make-over. It not quite shabby, but it 's bordering on it. However, on the plus side, the food is first-class. We stopped by for a 'quick ' lunch and ended up with full plates of hot, fresh, well-prepared food. My wife had a BLT and I had bacon and brie, both in a fresh, crusty baguette. T... View all feedback. What Resort23329750602 doesn't like about The Griffin:
I find it excessive and greedy to charge an additional £1 for paying for a pint with a card. The price of a pint should be the price of a pint, without any extra fees. What's next, charging an extra 50 pence if you're wearing brown shoes? View all feedback.

read moreNestled in a charming town, this restaurant exudes old-world charm, offering a pleasantly cozy atmosphere. While some reviews point to service inconsistencies and excessive charges, others celebrate the warm hospitality and quality of the food. The menu, though somewhat limited for non-meat eaters, showcases excellent dishes that have garnered praise. Guests appreciate the home-cooked breakfast and inviting bar setting, though they note the need for updates in décor and operation. With free parking and a convenient location, it remains a worthwhile stop, especially for those seeking a traditional English inn experience.
