Beautiful setting with excellent staff, we had a business brunch planned which was booked incorrectly due to a glitch in the hotels system. The man looking after us (apologies for not knowing his name) discretely resolved this offering us a number of options, which included continuing with our booking in the mirror room and keeping the kitchen open for us despite breakfast service being finished. We never felt rushed... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Peter Beales Tea Room:
disappoint. when we arrived, there was a limited menu today, but it looked good. we ordered and paid for 2 sandwiches and a pasty. the sandwiches arrived, but not the pasty. So I went to the counter to question this, just to say that the pasties were all sold out. my man is not able to eat bread, so all we were offered was a refund. we had an insane lunch that eats our sandwiches, while my man was not careful to eat... Outstanding food and service. Large portions well worth the money. Will use again most other places to eat you’d pay double that price .
I like to take myself out for breakfast once a week, on my own. Just as a bit of self care. This is the best breakfast in Norfolk by a country mile. Reasonably priced, friendly staff and great ingredients. I just love having my solo breakfast here.
Lovely breakfast, lots of options to choose from. Staff very pleasant and efficient. No complaints at all. However this restaurant is part of Peter Beale's stunning nursery garden centre (well worth a visit). Peter Beale is well known for producing award winning roses, so can you please remove the tacky plastic roses from the restaurant . Not a good look especially the quantity.
Reading good reviews about breakfast I was looking forward to a treat. Boy, was I disappointed. Prices seem to have increased so looking at £11.50 for a full English from £9.50. Unfortunately standards have sunk as the prices have escalated. My wife had the mushrooms on toast as the only healthy breakfast available but the toast had been badly burnt on one side and the charcoal side turned face down to hide it with a measly spread of a mushroom sauce on top, not nice. The full English was little better with blond undercooked sausages, cheap ingredients, a stone cold ramekin of beans and toast without butter. Accompanied by two capuccinos that that tasted like warm milk with a chocolate sprinkle. Mentioned all this to the eldest lady behind the counter who looked in charge and received the usual look of horror when an English person has the temerity to complain. She blamed the Saturday girls who were training apparently. Final fob off was that next time we come back we should mention our complaint for a possible discount. She refused to give her name when I said this was an unnaceptable response this is the true mark of the guilty. Shall not be going back ever again to test the discounted bad food offer as we both know readers, don't we? That this promise would be broken anyway.
I like cheesecake, so my lunch was a slice of cheesecake and a cappuccino. I've had some miserly sized portions at other places, but not here. It tasted good too.
