I was very pleasantly surprised with this place. I didn't have my expectations set too high prior to my visit being that the hotel is situated above a pub and the price is very reasonable, I booked mainly for location initially. We arrived with a very warm welcome at reception, the staff are very accommodating. The room was fantastic, clean, spacious, well decorated. We decided to dine in the Indian restaurant downst... What nit khe doesn't like about The Strand Former Oscar Wilde Home:
Expensive and poor experience. The socket where you put the card to get the light on was broken. The guy at the reception came to fix with sellotape. The tv was another issue as it wasn't connected to the hotel WiFi and had to call the receptionist to fix it. I had to use my own login for Netflix. For two hundred euros without breakfast was disappointing. The guy at the reception wanted me to pay parking when parking is free after 7pm and free on Sunday. Gap in the door and could hear the next guest coming in and out of their room. Room is very small and toilet is very tiny. Rooms: 2 Service: 2 Location: 5
Lovely little Hotel with a genuine old Dublin vibe and charm. My room was very small but very cosy, clean and lovely view of the beach. The location is very pretty plenty of decent pubs abd restaurants nearby. Friendly staff, good value for money and would happily stay again.
