Never Again. I 've been coming to this location for DECADES and have never been treated the way I was this time. They messed up my reservation and instead of being apologetic about it they were rude as if it were my fault. The air conditioner was not working and they told me they would send somebody in a while but never did. The bedside lamps were not working. The washcloth had makeup on it.
This used to be Motel 6. It 's is now a travelodge by Wyndham. Holy smokes! Where to start. Jennifer, the catatonic front desk clerk, warned me I would be kicked out if I broke a rule. What a lovely check in. I got a 2nd floor room (232) with no flush toilet. When I called front desk to report it (rm 232) Jennifer actually says other than that is room ok? Lol. I 'm stayin 3 days I think I need to flush shit. So first I ask for someone with a plunger and she said she would see about a plunger. I called back a minute later asking about plunger she says no , so then what about a different room? She says 1st floor single is all she has. Room 106. The room was a a dirty broken handicap accessible. It looked like someone has tried to bang down the door, it was bent inward at bottom. The screen was cut and broken off track. The room smelled and had a connect door. The section 8 guest next door ran the TV all day and night and u could hear it thru the door. Every item, fridge micro, furniture, was broken in some way. Trim and moldings broken, back of bathroom door broken. Grime on things like extension cords. Just foul. A mentally ill person must have been living in room above, where they walked back and forth in clogs and dragged furniture around until 1 am. I don 't know if Jennifer gave me room because I was there with a travel agent rate. It 's couldn 't have been the only room. Whole front side seemed empty, no cars there. Disgusting. My clothes smell from the room. Avoid even if u have to pay $40/nt more. I 'm going to let my Wyndham rep know about this place!
I often stay at Motel 6's when driving because they welcome my extremely well behaved Chihuahuas. I travel across the country every year, and have driven across twice in the last year alone. So, I feel I can give this one 4 stars. Why? Because I have stayed in some stanky motels and, over all, I have had more good/decent stays in Motel 6s that some others that charge more for animals as well as for a room. Despite a faint smell of smoke intermittently (both cigarette and weed) which I have experienced in many motels, this Motel 6 had superior front desk staff and, my room, was spotless. I stayed one night, then returned the next night and asked for the same room. I got it and it was very clear the room was well cleaned, both nights. Everyone knows this is not a luxury motel chain, but any place that accepts dogs (high end or low end lodging) is a huge plus for those of us who will not travel without our fur babies. When it's clean and the staff are very nice, it's worth 4 stars.
This is a flophouse! If all you want is a place to stay a night with no frills, this is your place. We started on the wrong foot with no toilet paper in our room. They are probably the only motel in New England that charges for wifi and I found it hard to manage on my laptop. The other unlikable feature is the laminate flooring creates a noisy echo chamber when the neighbor upstairs drop anything at night.
The stench of cigarettes in this non smoking room is overwhelming. The AC/Heater makes noise, but not enough noise to over come the din of trucks and cars on the interstate outside my window. But, the noise of anyone else in the building using water drowns it out now and then, so there 's that. I 'm airing out the clothes I need to wear today as I write this. Ordinarily I wouldn 't be writing a Yelp review at 7:30 on a Saturday morning but sleep has been out of the question at this smelly, noisy dump. The people at the front desk are friendly, but so was Norman Bates. Don 't stay here.
