New York Fried Chicken And Burger

Very much a local place and run by a husband and wife tandem. The menu is fairly extensive for fast food as they have burgers, fries, poutine, fried chicken, shrimp and others. I finally checked this place out a while ago so that at least I'd know if I had another good fried chicken option near me (in spite of the fact that KFC, Church's, Popeye's and Mary Browns are all within about a KM of me). But I like supporting local and also to see if they did anything unique. When I called what immediately stood out was that the prices are really cheap. The 10 piece bucket of chicken is $18, and that includes white meat and that isn't a promo or one day of the week. I can't say there's anything fully distinctive about the chicken, but it does simply have a good homestyle taste. I've also returned a few times since and each time it's made to order so that's a huge plus. Beyond that, they have better quality and meatier chicken than KFC and even Popeye's. So basically it's good homestyle fried chicken for a pretty low price. The fries didn't stand out much and were pre-fab. The wedges also seemed as though they may have been made in house and for me is the better option.

Excellent fried chicken. Nicely surprised, chicken is excellent, not greasy. Fries are excellent and the gravy is on its own, no one has gravy like that. They have lots on their menu, but I just can't get past ordering the chicken with fries and gravy. Give this place a go, and you will become a regular.

Wow, we don't get this kind of fried chicken in Chicago. It tasted homemade and we had the poutine with vegetarian gravy that was awesome. I will definitely be back for a visit soon.
