Contribute FeedbackThe Grandison Restaurant offers a varied dining experience, praised for its excellent food and relaxed atmosphere. Guests appreciate the accommodating staff, who are flexible with menu adjustments to enhance the dining experience. However, some diners have noted inconsistencies, such as slow service, particularly during busy times, and issues with dish preparation, like the doneness of roasts and quality of sides. While the ambiance is inviting, with a focus on family-friendly service, there are suggestions for improvement, especially regarding vegetarian options and menu clarity. Overall, the restaurant is a charming spot, ideal for gatherings, but could benefit from more efficient service.
I used to frequent this restaurant often, but had a negative experience at one point and took a break from dining there. However, when my friends expressed interest in trying it, I decided to give it another chance and visited on a Sunday. One of my friends ordered the roast and thoroughly enjoyed it. Another friend devoured a burger, while someone else ordered a salmon and salad dish that looked appealing, although it could have used a more flavorful dressing. As a vegetarian, I opted for the Gnocchi, which had a delicious, deep sauce. The outdoor seating was lovely as always, and the service was friendly and attentive, although the tables could have been cleared more promptly. Despite this minor issue, the staff were engaging and clearly had their hands full with both outdoor and indoor areas to manage. We also tried some desserts and starters, and while I felt the vegetarian options were somewhat limited, everything we tried was delicious. Overall, I believe we will definitely be returning to this restaurant in the future.
We celebrated my wife's birthday with Sunday lunch at Grandison. Our daughter and her family joined us. The atmosphere was fantastic, the service was top-notch, and the food was delicious. A big thank you to the staff for making it such a memorable day. The chef even wrote "happy birthday" in chocolate on my wife's dessert plate and specially made custard for me.
The food and ambiance at this restaurant were both excellent, but the service was extremely slow. We had to go get our own drinks because no one offered them to us within the first 15 minutes of being seated. The same thing happened with all of our courses, and even our children were wondering where the food was. It felt like they needed an extra staff member, as everyone seemed very busy despite the restaurant not being full. The staff were all polite and helpful, they were just understaffed. Despite the service issue, the meal itself was very good. We would consider giving it another try in hopes that this was just a one-time occurrence. The desserts were particularly delicious.
1stcourse Soup with artisan bread. The bread was just thick sliced white bread and looked like it was straight out of a packet. No choice offered as to granary wholemeal white brown etc 2nd course Pork and beef burger in bun with chips lettuce and tomato The chips were French fries which I hate as they go cold almost instantly. Fries were offered specifically on other menu items, so when the burger menu said chips I expected proper chips. The burger itself was under seasoned, dry, very thick and quite tough. I won't be eating here again
I have had a lovely evening with lovely company enjoying a lovely meal in a relaxing atmosphere, This was my first visit so will definitely return,...
