Was Frank A at Ahso a mag?
Love this restaurant! Five of us went here for a birthday celebration and reserved the Chef's Counter. This was an absolutely amazing experience! Jason, the owner AND chef, answered every question we had and made the experience truly special. The meal was phenomenal and my photos DO NOT do the appearance or plating justice at all. Phil the bartender attended our every need, and the meal concluded with a hand written... View all feedback.
What Derek Banks dislikes about Ahso:
I would give this restaurant 0 stars if I could. My wife and I sat at the bar to order dinner, and we were shocked to see a cook walking from the kitchen to the bar area with a pot of sauce, stirring it as he walked. He then tasted it and put the spoon back into the pot. I immediately asked to speak with the manager, and while I was relaying what I had seen, he did the same thing again in front of me and the manager.... View all feedback.
This restaurant is easily in the top 5 in Loudon, if not the best. The service is top-notch, and the meals are perfect for dinner. The average price per person ranges between $50 and $100.

As a fellow owner in the food industry, this kind of behavior is unacceptable. I would recommend going to this restaurant at your own risk.
I feel so fortunate to live a stone's throw away from this gem of a restaurant. We moved to Brambleton Town Center in 2021, but with the pandemic still hovering, we just made our way back to Ahso today. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, able to guide us through the options based on her own experience. My husband and I both chose the grilled branzino, and were we ever surprised to see what arrived on the plate--a virtual culinary masterpiece including grilled branzino stuffed with green beans, cranberries, cauliflower couscous, shaved almonds, mandarin oranges, and emulsified brown butter. Not only was it a creative execution, it was absolutely delicious. For dessert, we shared the King of Rock Roll, which was kind of a deconstructed s'more consisting of carmelized bananas, peanut butter ice cream and marshmallow (both made in-house), chocolate crumbles, and candied bacon. Crazy good! Our entire experience was phenomenal and reminded us why we loved going to Ahso before the pandemic. We will be lunchtime regulars for the foreseeable future, and I hope the community continues to support this wonderful fine dining establishment because we are so lucky to have them.
I really enjoyed Ahso and the food overall was really tasty. I might say the food portions are on the smaller side but the Seabass was delicious and all of our cocktails were really tasty. We had a larger family dinner and got to use their private dining area which was great. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner
We had a tradition to come here for every birthday and special occasion but unfortunately this will be our last. Last two times where just not as good as it used to be, seems to be going downhill. Today was my son’s 11th birthday. We asked when we sat down if it’s possible for the kids to meet the Chef as they are aspiring chefs and love cooking. They said yes but at the end of our meal. The entire meal the kids talked about how excited they were to meet the Chef. At the end they said they are sorry but the Chef already left since he was done. They brought out a candle for my son but no dessert. They wanted us to buy a dessert and since we didn’t buy they brought nothing out complimentary which they always did for the birthday boy. The food also has gone downhill the past two times. It was not as good as it used to be. They changed the menu a bit and portions got smaller. They were out of a lot of things, including buns for burgers for the kids. For $200 it was just not remarkable and I would expect more from a high end restaurant.
