Friendly staff all wearing masks. All Covid safety measures being taken, including individual sanitiser on each table. Large tables enable safe distancing. Food as always good with plenty of choice. The only place I would feel safe meeting up with friends. View all feedback.
What 712clarewoods doesn't like about Blue Anchor:
I recently went to this restaurant for afternoon tea and was disappointed. The scones were overcooked, the cakes were dry, and I had to wait around 20 minutes for my tea to be served. I revisited the Blue Anchor for morning coffee and lunch. The service was excellent, and I received a warm welcome in pleasant surroundings. I always feel comfortable here. - Valerie from Earls Colne
I recently stayed at this restaurant after attending a birthday party there. The staff were very friendly and provided great service. The food was delicious. Just a heads up, breakfast is not included in the room rate, so you pay for what you order. Although this allows for more flexibility in choosing your meal, I was a bit surprised that coffee and tea were charged per cup at breakfast. Personally, I would have preferred a coffee pot or complimentary refills. It would be nice to have unlimited tea or coffee, especially after staying overnight. We stayed on a Sunday night and found that the entire pub was closed by 8.30pm. While we weren't looking for another drink, it would have been nice to have the option for a nightcap.
