Stopped off for a couple of drinks on a late summers evening sat by the canal. Local cask beers from Bridgehouse, Goose Eye and Tim Taylors available. Goose Eye Spring Wells was exceptionally nice. Im told the New Zealand Suavignon Blanc was very nice. Reasonable prices. Quite a few people sat outside eating. Would certainly go back when passing again. View all feedback.
What james heselwood doesn't like about The Fishermans Inn:
A pretty poor attempt at a roast dinner. Beef very tough and under seasoned. Potatoes hard and under seasoned. Mash with margerine instead of butter. Carrots just boiled and undercooked, not even properly peeled. Red cabbage undercooked. Gravy far too thin and under seasoned. Yorkshire pudding not great but at least homemade. Almost a miss at every opportunity. At £15.95 I'd say go elsewhere for your roast dinner. Ni... View all feedback.
Read all the good reviews turned up after 5pm as per the notice on the door but it has now closed apparently.
The food and drinks/beer were very bad on Friday night, the beer went flat almost immediately after it was served, the food was overpriced and poor.
Nice place on the canal and some decent beers. Only issue was two staff doing drinks and food so the queues were out the door
Customer service was brilliant even when busy lovely staff and the food was amazing and didn’t have wait long for the food which was served warm overall a lovely experience I recommend you go
Long time since I have visited here. Wonderful choice of hand pulled beers. The Landlord, is kept just right and the young lady who served us, pulled a gorgeous pint and a half. With regards to the food, I have an allergy to salt. They therefore made fresh batter, and we had a gorgeous fish and chips and mushy peas. We will definitely be visiting. Thanks for your attention to detail.
