A lovely modern twist on soft play with different areas for sand play, dress up, roads-ons and bouncing. A lovely new garden area compliments the indoor play when the sun is shining. Cakes are to die for and good deals for kids play including a meal. View all feedback.
What Oakworthgirl doesn't like about The Barn:
We came here with our 3 grand kids, aged 2, 4 and 7 on a very busy wet Half-term Friday. Luckily we got there early so nabbed a table and enough chairs for us all. I thought it was good value entry at £5.50 for each of the children which included any meal on the kids menu and a drink. Adults got free entry. There was plenty for our kids to do and there are special events each day. Today there was a dance leader who got the children dancing and clapping and playing instruments for over an hour. There was no time limit for our stay either (we were there for 3 hours).Food is pretty good too, much of it homemade, and at a reasonable price. I had the French oinion soup and it was great. Everybody left there happy.
Always busy but plenty of tables and the staff are lovely, nothing is too much trouble. Food is very good quality and good value for money.
Upon my return, I was told that they were full and couldn't let us in. The staff member was unapologetic and denied any responsibility for the safety of children on the grounds. After some persistence, I was finally allowed entry. Overall, I was not impressed with the staff's attitude and lack of sympathy for my child's discomfort. However, the play area was nice once we finally got in. The staff could definitely use some improvement in my opinion.
I visited this restaurant today with my two granddaughters and they really enjoyed it. There was plenty for them to do and the dressing up costumes were great. I wish there was more interaction with the animals though. I paid nearly £5 for a tuna mayo salad sandwich and it was just average. Maybe they need to review their menu as my friend got a panini for the same price and it came with chips and salad. Despite these issues, I would still go back as the kids had a great time.
I visit this restaurant at least once a month because my 3-year-old enjoys it. However, I have noticed that the toys available are quite limited. The only toys in the sand pit are cars and tractors, which my son finds boring. I have asked for the little people toys, but I was told that they are reserved for the after school club. I believe the dressing up/play area could be more imaginative by including a home corner and some happyland people. This restaurant has the potential to be amazing if they offer more role play activities that kids enjoy.
