He mentioned the warm greeting from the staff, their helpful and friendly demeanor, and the delicious food that he described as "to die for." Overall, Ken highly recommended Moghuls as his top Indian restaurant, giving it a 5-star rating for the great atmosphere, service, and kitchen.
My experience at Sweet Cheese in Bradford was, unfortunately, underwhelming despite the friendly and welcoming staff. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly by a lovely woman and a young waiter. The restaurant was completely empty, which was surprising for a weekend evening. We ordered drinks, but things quickly took a downturn. There was no mint available for my mocktail, leading to a lengthy wait. While my husband received his drink promptly, it was served in a dirty can without even a glass, which was quite off-putting. To add to the disappointment, I wasn’t offered an alternative or even a simple glass of water while waiting, and had to request tap water myself. The food itself was average at best. Our starter of BBQ wings was okay, though it tasted like something frozen and reheated rather than freshly prepared. We opted for the £15.99 deal, which included steak, chips, and cheesecake. The steak, while my husband enjoyed it, was bland to me. The novelty of cooking it ourselves was interesting, but it didn’t make up for the lack of flavor. My mocktail finally arrived, but it was far from impressive and certainly not worth the £7 price tag. The dessert was a deconstructed cheesecake, which didn’t appeal to me. The cheese component was warm and half-melted, making it quite unappetising. The biscuit crumbs and sauces were decent, but I would have preferred a traditional, well-constructed cheesecake. There were several issues beyond the food and drink. The cutlery was extremely old and dirty, which made the dining experience feel unhygienic. To top it off, when we received the bill, we were overcharged by £15. After checking in our car, we returned to the restaurant to clarify, and the young waiter quickly admitted to mistakenly charging us for two extra cheesecakes. While the refund was given in cash, this kind of mistake felt very unprofessional, especially since we were the only customers there. In summary, while the staff were lovely, the overall experience at Sweet Cheese was disappointing. The food was mediocre, the service had several lapses, and the cleanliness left much to be desired. Sadly, I wouldn’t recommend this place based on our visit. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £40–50 Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 1
