Contribute FeedbackHattie's Cafe, nestled within a pleasant garden center, offers a charming atmosphere with ample seating and a diverse menu. However, recent visits reveal inconsistencies in food quality. While some patrons appreciate friendly service and decent gluten-free options, others are disappointed by dishes that lack freshness and appeal, such as dry scones and poorly presented breakfasts. Guests have noted that the cafe’s renovations are overdue, with maintenance issues impacting the experience. Despite some positive feedback, the overall sentiment suggests a need for improvement in food quality and presentation to reclaim its once reputable status.
Terrible breakfast fatty undercooked bacon, swimming in fat. Also tinned tomatoes it was disgusting. Sausages were ok
First time here but I wasn't impressed. My blueberry and lime scone was very dry and had hardly any fruit in it. A friend had a bacon sandwich which was very fatty and greasy. For the price paid, it wasn't worth it
Been twice in the last week, once for a meal with my Wife and once for sandwiches with my Wife and Sister-in-Law. Both times we had no complaints and everything was great.
Spacious, safe and pleasant cafe to meet and eat in the current circumstances and can provide good chips and tea. The ‘home made’ pea and mint soup with freshly baked bread sounded very appealing, what a disappointment at £5.20 for a small bowl. Not a pea in sight and no mint flavour accompanied a mass produced roll wrapped in cellophane. Blueberry and Lime Scone was the same, just a bland lump of dough with a couple of blueberries evident. Staff failed to deliver a bowl of soup to a member of the group and said ‘why didn’t you come and ask for it’!! Such a shame as it’s a good place to meet as a group after a local walk on a crisp winter day.
My husband I visited Hatties today for coffee/something to eat. He ordered the “big breakfast”. When it arrived he commented that it looked a mess. I had to agree it did. I said never mind as long as it tastes ok (although I felt that maybe not) The beans were on top of the fried bread so it was soggy. The egg on top of everything and it was hard. It looked to me like a bigger plate should have used as everything seemed to be piled on top of each other. It just looked a mess and unappetising. My husband left the bacon and 1 sausage. Fortunately we have 3 dogs so I took his left over items home for them. He said I will never eat there again. PLEASE PLEASE improve things!! It doesn’t take much to make food look appealing doe it?
