While many long-time patrons laud its excellent service and delicious Punjabi dishes, recent experiences highlighted concerns over inconsistent food quality. Some diners reported bland, over-salted curries with dry meat, leaving them disappointed and questioning previous standards. Nevertheless, glowing testimonials continue to emerge, celebrating the restaurant's welcoming atmosphere and delectable Balti specials. With generous portions and a family-friendly vibe, Balti House remains a beloved spot, though diners are encouraged to ensure quality choices on every visit.
This restaurant serves the best curries in town! The staff is friendly, the portions are amazing, and the prices are reasonable. I have visited many times and have never had a bad experience. I highly recommend this place, especially because you can bring your own alcoholic drinks. The fish masala is absolutely delicious.
The atmosphere was pleasant and the service was good at this restaurant. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. The Chicken Tikka Masala tasted like it came from a jar of sauce. The Chicken Tikka Jalfrezi was very spicy, but lacked flavor. The Pilau rice was just plain boiled rice. The chicken in both dishes was dry. The Onion Bhajis were not up to standard and the Tarka Dhal was bland. I spent £75 on food that I could have cooked better myself. Overall, it was a total waste of money.
Regular visitors to the Balti for many years, but out latest visit was top notch the best for a long time. The service was great, we were warmly welcomed and made to feel like valued customers. The food was spot on…couldn’t fault any of the dishes. We all left having thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will not leave it too long until the next time!!
Wow, just ate here for the first time. The food and service was exceptional. I had the Boti sheeslik and it was amazing. Tendor marinated chicken served on a sizzling platter. You could taste the quality of the food they served. Also had a mushroom bhaji side which was the works. Loads of mushrooms and just the right amount of spicing. Would definately recommend this place. Easy 5 's.
Well we've been going here for years, eat in and takeaway never disappointed but wow just had a takeaway as a treat for the first time in ages. The English meal was what it is what do you expect but two out of the three curry eaters havent even had more than a couple of fork fulls. Very very surprised and disappointed hope they get their act together as its always been one of the best around well stock cupboard tea for us ! eggs it is then! waste of very hard earned cash i'm afraid all three different curries and seemed like a pot of salt had been poured into each one to cover the fact there were none of the normal spices and herbs in there equally felt like someone had dyed it bright red for no reason! again probably trying to disguise the fact it isn't up to the usual standard. Come on guys
