Description

Braddon Merchant offers a diverse dining experience that garners mixed feedback. Guests appreciate the extensive menu options and reasonably priced dishes, particularly the unique small plates and delightful desserts. While service can be spotty, with occasional lapses in attentiveness and minor glitches like slow food delivery, most staff are noted for their friendliness and diligence. The ambiance, particularly when dining outside, is enjoyable, though some have mentioned temperature issues indoors. The restaurant also caters well to dietary restrictions. With ongoing promotions and a warm atmosphere, Braddon Merchant remains a solid choice for both casual and festive dining.

As for wheelchair accessibility, there's a ramp leading into the building, and the tables are at a suitable height for wheelchair users. There are three accessible restrooms, at least one of which is spacious enough to accommodate a wheelchair. For dinner, the price per person ranges from A$40 to A$60.

For our appetizer, we enjoyed warm olives paired with charred sourdough. With the staff's recommendations, we shared several small plates: the salmon with crème fraîche, eggplant with buffalo yogurt, and mussels with samphire. Each dish was exceptional, making it impossible to choose a favorite. For dessert, we indulged in a shared chocolate mousse topped with macadamia nuts and toasted coconut flakes, as well as a cheese platter featuring homemade lavash and honeycomb. Every plate was left spotless. To top off the evening, they kindly validated our parking ticket, which meant complimentary parking! Unfortunately, we didn’t take any photos since we were too busy savoring our meal.

We started with oysters, which were absolutely divine. My friends thoroughly enjoyed their main courses of mussels and baked pumpkin. However, I found the red snapper a bit dry and wasn't a fan of the cabbage. On the bright side, the chocolate mousse for dessert was a delightful treat. Overall, I would definitely return in the future.
