Old Tom Morris played Grand View last week while visiting Pittisburgh. The course was in great shape from Tee to Green, challenging yet fair. I teamed up with Ted, a local and he was a stroke saver! Ted shared his local knowledge of the holes, which was a blessing! Thank you Ted. The staff were very friendly, Bob the owner and Ryan at the pro shop!!! I will surely make play Grand View when visiting my grandkids! View all feedback.
What Michael Sheridan doesn't like about Grand View Golf Club:
I don 't understand why Google keeps categorizing this as a golf course . Just put a roller coaster on this property and be done with it. The tee boxes are freshly tilled and ready for fall garden planting. And the course matches the experience, no starter, no real tee times, just anarchy. I really enjoy this course. It's usually my top choice for a relaxing, affordable, and enjoyable round of golf. The views are amazing!
I played 18 holes starting at 10 AM, and I have to say, the staff were really friendly. The course was reminiscent of the ones I often played back in Korea, unlike other courses around the Pittsburgh area. It featured challenging hills and a narrow layout, which made straight shots essential. Focusing on accuracy rather than distance added a lot of fun to the game. Contrary to some older reviews, the condition of the course was decent – the greens were smooth, and the grass was well-maintained. The pricing for both the game and snacks was very reasonable. I especially enjoyed the self-serve hot dog bar. I have great memories from this visit and hope to return in the future.
During a recent road trip west, I managed to squeeze in a round of golf in the Pittsburgh area while my family was still sleeping. This course is by far the most intriguing and challenging I have ever played. I relied on my driver and hybrids to reach the holes, as I can hit straight. However, if you tend to hook or slice, you might be in trouble on many holes. The steep slopes and thick vegetation can easily claim your ball. The key to success here is to focus on accuracy rather than power, and you'll be just fine! The views are breathtaking, although my photos capturing the scenic town and river didn’t turn out well. The cart paths are quite treacherous, so speeding isn't an option, but it definitely adds to the excitement. I booked the first tee time and, with cart path only, it took me about three hours to finish. I was thankful there was no one in front of me because I was playing quickly and striking the ball well. It was a fantastic golfing experience!
Very hilly terrain, leave the driver in your golf bag!the 19th hole is very nice and drinks are reasonable.
Nice fairways and greens are rolling great! Always a fun and challenging course. Beautiful views too!
