I’m not much of a pub person but being a local I was curious how the recent refit had faired as it looked nice from the outside and looked really busy over the... read more I’m not much of a pub person but being a local I was curious how the recent refit had faired as it looked nice from the outside and looked really busy over the summer months. I popped in one day mid week for a quick bit for lunch. The food was okay but just that. I had a pie that was of good quality but let down by what looked and tasted like reheated mash which was hard to believe being lunchtime. That’s what I got for nearly £20 with a soft drink. The decor has been really tastefully done and one can only hope that it is maintained as the outside furnishings were already showing advanced signs of wear and tear. I wish them good luck but fear that the level they are now aiming at is perhaps better catered for by more established competition
