I went to Simmer Huang with my friends last night. The table was set neatly. Finely chopped condiments were arranged. Dinner started with cold appertizers (cucumber, pig ear and chicken), all of which were nice and punchy. Indeed, they were great 开口菜。We then had a hotpot. Serving was very generous. Staff were helpful. 口水雞 was very tasty but was very disappointed with our beef tendon, tripe, omasum, tongue simmer pot. The beef tongue was missing and they used cubes of beef brisket instead. The simmer pot was very oily as they added a huge chunk of lard at the beginning. The thick sauce they used didn't go well with the ingredients and they put a lot of it in.
