Love this place. It’s like a hidden gem in the suburbs. But I’m glad it is in my local area. Love Toby’s Coffee. The food is amazing. They also showcase artwork in the cafe too which is a nice touch. View all feedback.
Had the buttermilk chicken burger. Best chicken burger I have ever had. Wife had the poke bowl and she loved it. Great food . Staff were polite and attentive. Great experience. Food 5 service 4 ambience 4
I was quite excited to see a brand new cafe open up on Blackwood Street, my local area and Hobby Lane did not disappoint. I visited mid week for brunch and it was already quite busy so I can imagine on the weekends it must be packed. My drink order was taken right away and I really enjoyed the fresh juice it came out very quickly. I chose to order from the specials board potato and ricotta waffle, smoked salmon, poached egg, chipotle hollandaise and avocado salsa. Being pregnant, I had to change 90% of the dish and was delighted that the staff and kitchen were so accommodating. I swapped the salmon for crispy bacon, poached for scrambled egg and asked for extra avocado in place of the hollandaise. It is rare for kitchens to be so accommodating and I was very grateful for them being so cool about it because I really wanted to try that waffle!<br/ <br/ My meal was served very quickly and everything just worked. All individual elements were delicious but together, they were also amazing. The bacon was so crispy, the salsa was fresh and flavoursome, the waffle was great and the eggs were also nice. This dish is a cracker, it should go on the everyday menu. <br/ <br/ There was some confusion over what dish I should be paying for because I made so many amends to it and I did question the price (turns out I had been charged twice for bacon) but rectified very quickly. This is a fantastic little cafe, a real gem for Mitchelton and I will definitely be back yum!
Arguably the best coffee on Brisbane’s north side with the most amazing take away muffins and biscuits. Hobby Lane was my favourite before work coffee haunt for years until moving work places recently. Oh how I miss their coffee. Now I make the trip back on holidays just to get my fix! Never, ever a bad coffee, and always fast prompt friendly service from staff who remember your order and know you by name. If you have more time, definitely eat in. Hobby Lane’s breakfast and lunch menus are worth it too.
Whenever I am busy and running errands at Blackwood St, I always add time to my schedule to stop in for a coffee, but really love it when I have time to slide into a chair and order breakfast. Hobby Lane has cooked the most tasty meals in the area for years, and the team always make their customers feel welcome (often by name). Coffee is great. It can get busy from time to time, as expected in the rush hour when the coffee is good.
The break to go burger was excellent.ive never given breakfast burger a 5/5 before. The halloumi and bacon and relish worked so well together. I just wish it was bigger. Coffee was good as well. Well done to the staff.
