Lizzie’s first impression: With its vibrant neon lights, extravagant decor, and an impressive menu offering both brunch/lunch and dinner,

Lizzie enjoyed: I had a fantastic time at Zero Mode—it’s a fun spot for date nights and perfect for sharing dishes with groups.

I visited for dinner and opted for the Feed Us menu, which is surprisingly affordable at just $49 for two people. I was blown away by the tempura cauliflower; it was an absolute game changer! I've never tasted anything quite like it, served in a Thai yellow curry with shredded cheese on top. I also sampled the crispy pork belly baos, which were expertly crafted—the sauce was spot on and the pork belly was perfectly crispy. The karaage was another standout; it featured crispy chicken drizzled with spicy sauce, all atop a bed of fairy floss—definitely the most incredible dish I’ve seen and tasted, and it worked surprisingly well! I also tried the rendang beef, a classic dish that I was eager to sample, and it did not disappoint!

Lizzie did not enjoy: N/A—I’m looking forward to returning to try their breakfast menu so I can provide a complete review.

This cafe has beeen around for sometime i believe, under the new apartment building in cafe, however I have noticed an increase in its social media presence recently. The food here i think is executed really well, and its menu inspired by a fusion of asian and western flavours offers plenty of variety for its patrons, which sets itself apart from cafes that serve your usual eggs benedict etc.I had the 'got beef ' which was simply delectable. The brisket was very soft and effortless to chew, cooked in a sauce that was tangy yet not overpowering, the orange hollondaise added a layer of sweetness and creaminess, top it off with a buttery homemade waffle and you have an amazing dish. Definitely recommend this.I had the wagyu burger which was good, but i thought the wagyu patty was a bit dry and not fatty enough. The truffle mayo and brioche bun were otherwise really nice.Coffee is slightly dissapointing, they use seven seed beans which i know is very good, temperature needs to be slightly hotter, and the milk to coffee ratio is slightly off because the taste of the beans did get lost in the milk. All in all, a really nice cafe that i can see myself coming back to for the food+ worth the hype on social media currently.
Omg the poke bowls and cakes here are just to die for! I can't recommend the cream cakes more such a fun experience to have with your friends! Another Box Hill must try spot
I discovered Zero Mode after moving to Box Hill a fewMonths ago, and needless to say, it has become my #1 brunch choice in a 10km radius. The poke bowls and laksa are SO GOOD!!!!! Great value and delicious flavours. Staff are very friendly and coffee is yum. Don’t change a thing
I visited this restaurant with my wife, and we ordered a serving of Fried Chicken, Poke, and wrapped things up with two of their famous Cream Cakes. It was definitely worth the drive after being cooped up during isolation to enjoy these cream cakes! We've been craving them for quite some time. The fried chicken was among the best I've had in Melbourne, and as for the poke—which my wife ordered—she absolutely loved it.

The food and cocktails are outstanding, and there's always something new and exciting on the menu.
If you’re a fan of waffles, you should definitely sample anything that features them on the menu. This restaurant has mastered the art of making savory waffles!
Went with a friend. Food was okay, quite standard cafe fare, no complaints there its not easy to strike a balance between creative and potentially unpopular dishes and the usual cafe suspects (scrambled eggs, etc). Didn't allow us to use the Zomato app to call in a discount apparently we were expected to read through the T&Cs before redeeming a few drinks, and were also told those drinks had to be identical. No indication of that in the fine print. Left a bad taste in my mouth. For a cafe so empty on the weekends, I expected a more tactful response, and would welcome some goodwill too.
I’m honestly puzzled by the previous reviews. The menu has changed, and several items listed on their website are no longer available. When we mentioned that we had come specifically for certain dishes, the waitress simply replied, “Oh, we change some as we like,” with no apology. The food lacked balance and was either excessively sweet, overly sour, or just didn’t make sense. Unfortunately, our expectations for a lovely evening were not met, and we won’t be returning. The only positive was that the beer was cold.

Went with my whole family and absolutely loved Zero Mode. Food was fantastic and looked amazing, the service was sensational the cocktails were so yummy. Very much recommended it :
Delicious and interesting. Brunch catch up with friends after reading reviews online. The food looks intriguing in design, I ordered the waffle, chicken and bacon, it came with a ball of fairy floss like a cloud which complimented the flavour of the meal and made it a fun order. Service is very attentive and friendly. Cafe was a bit smaller inside than I had imagined, lots of outdoor seating.
Eating was ok, quite standard cafe-tarife, no complaining there his not easy to meet, an equal weight between creative and possibly unpopular, and the usual cafe suspects (gecrambled eier, etc). have not allowed us to use the Zomato app to call a rabatt, apparently we were expected to read through the t
Look, we loved the place but went there because of the menu available online. We were extremely disappointed to find out that the menu being advertised was no longer available (no online updates of this). We were left trying to work out what else we would have. The fusion sushi concept is not available because; there is a Japanese restaurant nearby... The portions were also pretty small for the price. But the quality of food we ate was amazing and the coffee was super smooth. We will be back to try a few other dishes and to have another coffee!!
