What Martine Perez doesn't like about Kelsey's Neighborhood Bar & Grill:
no romaine salat for salate due to memory.....however, mixed greens or spinat can be used as substitute for a salad option. but no, the “Spinchsalat is served warm and is only available in the meal size, not as side”. Really, they. can not make it smaller and leave it unheated to serve their customers better? also no baked carrots. “We have no potatoes now.” I was never in a restaurant where they did not provide kart... We enjoy Kelsey's they have a good variety to choose from. I have been to this location many times and have never had a bad meal. Our family loves the chicken wings, they are not over sauced or over cooked. The salads are all really good and so are the sandwiches. The only thing I would be negative about is that they changed their dishes so you get less food for the same price.
Ate here for the first time with a friend after our kickboxing class. This restaurant is conveniently situated just off Hwy 2 in Bowmanville (opposite McDonalds) close to ScotiaBank. We were greeted & seated straight away upon arrival. The menu choice was ok but sadly there was hardly anything on there for vegetarians which is a real shame in this day & age whereby lots of other eating establishments provide a better menu choice for us veggies. When the food arrived it was presented beautifully hence the 3-star rating, but sadly my Quesadillas were a little bland in flavour & my friends chicken had too much coating/batter or breadcrumbs on it, which distorted the overall enjoyment somewhat. When it was time to pay our bills we both had 20x SCENE points coupons on our phones & showed our server, but sadly only my bonus points were added. We were told that we would have to call SCENE ourselves to rectify it but this suggestion was soon taken back when my friend threatened to leave a negative review on Tripadvisor about it. Within minutes the issue was resolved by the Manager (how convenient). Not sure whether I'd dine here again though out of choice until improvements are made on their menu. Sorry.
As with most chains, the upside is the lack of surprises and the known quality of the food. There was a group of us and due to it being a Saturday night with a Leafs game on the place was full. Minimal wait for a table and while the service was friendly and quite good, the crown may have impacted the wait times form the bar as we found that service a bit slow. Everyone enjoyed their meals and had no regrets as to what was ordered. Portion size was fine and you won't be hungry when you leave. If you are in the area, a good place for casual dining and watching a game on TV.
Let me start with service, good, friendly and fast. We ordered off the lunch menu. The soup and salad is what you would hope it would be and the chicken club was good too. It was reasonably priced with fast service. We were in and out without waiting to get our bill. In all it was a good lunch.
