Best breakfast I ever had in Georgia. Lady learned to make biscuits since 5 years old, she makes them fresh every day. Freshly fried food and perfect grits. Pre COVID prices. Friendly stray tuxedo cat you can pet too ? View all feedback.
What James Norman doesn't like about The Bowman House Southern Kitchen:
Don't eat here. We went in around 2pm today and were told to sit anywhere. We waited for 20 minutes and no one ever came to take our order so we left. I guess you must live locally to be served here. Sad ... View all feedback.
We had a delicious meal of Chicken and Dumplings, fried okra, cornbread and sweet tea. It tasted just like my mother’s when I was growing up. The owner and her son were delightful. Please try this special place. You will not be disappointed.
This was amazing food me and my wife liked it it's the first time we ever went here I went and looked at a tree job in Georgia

We live in the surrounding area but have not eaten here since it became the Bowman House. We ordered take out. I got boneless wings in buffalo sauce with fries and a chocolate cobbler. My wife got a burger , fries and the cobbler as well. The boneless wings are small fried chunks of breast smothered in hot sauce, not even as close as good as say Pizza Huts boneless wings. The sauce tasted artificial like it was made with margarine or some other strange fat source. The amount of fries was very small, limp and bland. Overall it was not that great and I had to down a half a bottle of Pepto afterwards. The tea was good. My wife felt about the same, the burger was plain and her fries over salted. The cobbler tasted ok, didn’t have any artificial aftertaste but it looked like it had been stomped on and thrown at the wall before it was placed in the container. See photos, kind of looked like a cow pattie. I thought the Berryman could have been way better, real southern country cooking with love by not serving pre-frozen and canned food and feel about the same for the Bowman House as the atmosphere inside was nice and what I hear the people now are friendly-not so much when it was the Berryman. I don’t know if I’ll try it again, we’ll see, but this measly dinner cost us nearly 40 bucks and there are better places to eat around here for 40 bucks. Use butter in your hot sauce, makes it way better, fake butter is not cooking with love.
AWESOME service, super friendly staff and owners, mighty fine cooking, and low prices that make you double take at the register. This place will take you back in time to a day when life was simpler, food was better, food was cheaper, and people were friendlier. At breakfast I recommend the huge fried pork chop, biscuits are amazing and the pancakes are huge. I like the beef liver for lunch and supper. But everything is good here. Please, please, please, stay in business forever!
