located near the east side of bournemouth pier, its affirmation is to sell the worlds best fish in chips, true. the fish piece is huge, tasty and fills itself. the fries are also thick pieces and well made but without salt. if they love salt in their pommes plump, they tell them when they give up their order. the best part of this restaurant is that it is located right in front of the beach and they can carry their b... What User doesn't like about Harry Ramsden's:
fish chips worst I ever had. good restaurants serve the fish, the rugged meat, but our were all frozen. I would never go to this place again and would not recommend anyone. no employee came by to ask if everything was in order and the place was not busy. I would have told them about the fish. Very good value for your money, great service and fabulous views of Bournemouth Beach. Highly recommend the place . Plenty of room inside , and when weather warmer fabulous views and seating outside.
Boy what a let down! Firstly, we were greeted by a member of staff who was apparently doing us a favour by taking us to a table. We were told it was restaurant service when they 're ready . Apparently there 's a fish shortage in Bournemouth based on the portion sizes we have just received. I had a regular haddock, as shown in the photo, which despite its diminutive size still dwarfed the over 60 's senior portion laughably received by my mother, which can only be described as a battered fish finger. Sadly I didn 't get a photo as she had finished it before I had the chance. The chips were as scarce. Don 't get me wrong, the food was tasty just ridiculously small portions and really disappointing from an outlet that specialises in fish and chips. Do yourself a favour, go to Iceland and buy from the range there, at least you won 't be hungry afterwards.
The restaurant is located in a great spot, but it mainly offers fast takeaway fish and chips. It's not the most memorable meal ever, but if you're craving some chips on Bournemouth beach, it's a good option that's worth trying.
We went for afternoon tea,the chips were tepid at best but they changed them straight away for really hot ones. There was a good selection as in Fish in a roll, fishcakes, onion rings, chips, battered sausage and battered gherkins. Curry sauce, mushy peas and little pots of tomatoe ketchup and mayonnaise. Wasn't sure why the gherkins were battered ,would have been nice to have something that wasn't as the fishcake was also in batter..maybe a little pie would be good as an option. You also got tea or coffee plus battered bananas and bread and butter pudding with custard and biscoff sauce. Everyone thought it was too much batter so maybe another pudding choice would have been good. Is worth the money and nice for a treat ,The staff were friendly and the views even on a not so nice day are fantastic. Would return again
Lovely fish and chips, bread and butter pudding and a pot of tea. Friendly efficient service. Toilets clean! All incuded in a great over 60's deal. Definitely will return.
