The Chart Room offers a picturesque setting with ample indoor and outdoor seating, making it a lively destination for gatherings. While some guests rave about the delightful atmosphere and successful dishes like chowder and crab salad sandwiches, others express disappointment with overcooked meals and a lack of creativity in the menu. Service experiences vary, with some appreciating attentive waitstaff while others cite rudeness from the hostess and slow service. Overall, The Chart Room appears to be a place worth visiting for its ambiance, though diners may want to consider their food choices carefully.

Fortunately, we were lucky that day, as everything turned out to be delicious. I chose a Reuben sandwich since I wasn’t in the mood for a hefty meal, while my companion went for the scallops. For our appetizer, we ordered clams casino, and every dish was spot on, right down to our martinis. The restaurant was buzzing with people, but we were seated quickly, as most others preferred outdoor seating, which worked out perfectly for us! Our server, Luke, did a commendable job. He seemed a bit inexperienced but made a genuine effort to take care of us. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that the service was a bit slow. There were plenty of young staff hustling to do their best, but if the kitchen is sluggish, it’s not entirely their fault. Thank you for a wonderful meal!

My friends and I were truly shocked by the behavior of the hostess. When we arrived at the host stand, she asked if we were dining with them that evening. We excitedly stated that we would like to enjoy a few drinks and appetizers. To our surprise, the hostess replied curtly that we had a maximum of 30 minutes. She didn’t explain why, and with little enthusiasm, she led us to our table, rudely pushing past a family who was trying to get seated at their own table. This unsettling interaction completely ruined the enjoyable atmosphere we were hoping for, and we ultimately decided to leave. I highly recommend avoiding this place; there are many other marina bars and restaurants where customers are treated much better.

Upon arriving at the Chart Room we were greeted by a crowd of people that were spread across many different areas. They have a very large outdoor seating area overlooking the boat yard with a walk-up bar window so people could enjoy a drink while watchingthe sunset. The restaurant itself has indoor and covered outdoor seating that also overlooks the boat yard. We were seatedinside and I ordered the clam chowder and the prime rib (available Thursday thru Saturday, and sometimes Sunday). The chowderwas excellent. A nice solid creamy body with a slight hint of sweetness that did not need any salt or crackers added to it. Theprime rib was very good as well, a very generous sized portion that was paired with the rice (versus baked potato) and vegetable(asparagus). All were cooked to perfection. Despite the large crowd that was at the restaurant there was a very organized chaosas the staff all seemed to work together very well together and we didn't wait long at all to be greeted, get our first round ofdrinks, appetizers, or food. The server, who's name I believed is Kalyn, was great. Despite being very busy and having a fullsection that was constantly turning over, she was very nice, answered all of our questions, and never made us feel rushed. Afterthe meal was over it was easy to see why there was such a throng of people. The view, the service, the food, and the ambiance(there was someone playing the piano but not in a way that would disturb your dining or make it hard to have a conversation)would all bring me back on their own but when you put them all together it becomes a must visit spot for newcomers and a popularhangout for the locals.

You should get the lobster or crab salad in a tomato. Huge portions and so delicious!
