We were recommended this restaurant on trip advisor. We pre booked and just as well as we had the last table. A spacious comfortable evening with a good menu for coeliacs and pescatarians. The wine was excellent as was the service and it was close to our ibis hotel also recommended by trip advisor. Enjoy. View all feedback.
What Paxton Upton doesn't like about L'Amphitryon:
Ate here with business colleagues. Clearly a small family affair with a very small menu, but the food is well executed and tasty. At EURO 27 for 3 courses it is hard to complain, particularly when one of those courses was a delicious Beef Wellington. My only complaint is that there were no vegetables. Convenient for Hotel Angleterre. Overall a good place to eat. View all feedback.
Decided to try this restaurant as it is right next to the Best western hotel where we were staying and the menu looked good. We were not disappointed. The welcome was friendly, service excellent, and despite a limited choice the food was fabulous and very reasonably priced. We had a lovely meal and a very pleasant evening so would not hesitate to recommend.
This restaurant was opposite the hotel I stayed in (Best Western) - I chose it because of it's location more than anything else, and was very -pleasantly surprised by the food. I don't speak French, the menu was in French but the lady working explained that anything I couldn't translate she'd be happy to explain to me. I went for a Tomato starter which I can only explain as being very similar to a Bruschetta. Very tasty, fresh with a lovely salad and dressing. A delicious starter. I then went for The beef Tornedos - such a lovely piece of Beef, beautifully cooked, with a light sauce, and new potatoes (I think) lightly fried. A relatively simple meal, well cooked and such a good start to my holiday, and French cuisine. I have to say the lady waiting tables was amazing. There were I believe 4 or 5 tables outside, and at least 5 inside which she worked on her own. A young man from the kitchen helped from time to time, but she didn't stop and at one stage was almost running between the tables. If waiting was a problem, you admired the lady so much it became irrelevant. Best to make a reservation I would suggest as it get's very busy as soon as it's open. This is no surprise. Thoroughly enjoyed the food and the ambience. Highly recommended.

Small restaurant where booking essential at busy times. Modern food freshly cooked which was both interesting and delicious. Fair prices for very thoughtful and well presented meal.
Great food and excellent friendly service make for a repeatable experience, so we ate there twice and enjoyed both visits. Mylene works the front of the house while Nicolas manages the kitchen. Between them they do an excellent job. The menu is small, choosing to concentrate on fresh, in season, ingredients. The wine list is not extensive, but includes a fair selection of local options. Mylene guided us well.
