Reviews - The Mandarin
Reviews summary
The Mandarin boasts a bustling atmosphere and an inviting vibe, making it a popular dining spot. While some diners have raved about the quality and flavor of certain dishes like potstickers and cashew chicken, others have expressed disappointment in the inconsistency of flavors and the outdated décor. Guests have reported a mix of experiences with service; while some found staff friendly and attentive, others felt overwhelmed and neglected. Overall, while the restaurant has its merits, diners suggest caution given the fluctuating quality, crowded environment, and somewhat high prices, advising potential guests to make reservations in advance.

6 different dishes were all fantastic. Without exception the diners in our party loved their selections. The Christmas decorations were beautiful too. We scheduled a reservation ahead of time and dined on a Monday so wait for a table wasnonexistent. Our servers were very attentive without being obtrusive. Thank you.
As always, EXCELLENT FOOD AND SERVICE!! Kaia was our waitress and she did a wonderful job! The char Shu (barbecue pork) was the best we have ever had, definitely a must get! We also have the chicken general Tso‘s, the cashew chicken and Sizzling ricesoup. Yum, Yum, YUM!!!! We enjoy bringing family and friends here for gatherings because we know they will be satisfied withtheir meal and be impressed with the service!
The Mandarin is a great American Chinese restaurant that has some good dishes but some that miss the mark. We ordered pot stickers and zesty orange shrimp for appetizers with the shrimp being the best and would not order the pot stickers again. Waseating with two friends and one like the Margarita and the other said the Mule was a little lacking with alcohol. The strawberrydaiquiri was good (would order again), and I would pass on the black cherry soda. For main dishes we had scallops with garlicsauce (good), Hunan beef (best of the ones ordered), Szechwan chicken (was like soup), and spice grilled chicken (hidden menuitem and too sweet). Since rice is not included, we ordered char shu fried rice and shrimp chow mein which both were very good.Would go back again and say this is a 3.75 star place as rice should always be part of an Asian meal and be included and thatsome of the dishes are more like soups then wok dishes.
Honestly I'm not a big fan of Chinese food. But this place was so good! We got some potstickers for an appetizer (6 in an order)and they were so juicy and hot!they came with a sweet and savory dip. Everyone loved these! The cashew chicken, coconutThai curry, and fried noodles dish were amazing!! The portions were enough to feed two but if you each get a dish then it'sabout $15 a dish. Over all the food was high quality and very fast! We will definitely be returning!

The Best Chinese food in Utah! Some of the dishes that are amazing are the sweet and sour pork, generals chicken, Almond Chicken and many others. ...
Had this last night....sure wasn't what it used to be. I won't be eating there again anytime soon. Very disappointed. sad.
We have been eating at the Mandarin for over 20 years and we are looking forward to 20 more. The Asian Chicken Salad is our favorite!

Awesomely Fantastic Dishes here. Flavor Explosion in my mouth. Never had a dish I did not like. Fresh items, some vegetables bought locally, home made sauces. Flavors you can not get anywhere else. I try a new item each time I come. Place is always clean with great staff. Shoutout to the Fabulous cooks.

Very crowded and noisy. Even with a reservation for 6:00pm, we had to wait and were not seated until almost 6:20pm. The server was nice, but you could tell she was rushed and overloaded with customers. Menus are out of date. Two of the items I attempted to order they no longer offer. The item I did order seemed to be forgotten and was not brought out with the rest of the entrees. Overall it seemed overpriced and not worth returning.
Actually, I'm not a big fan of Chinese food. But this place was so good! We have potstickers for an appetizer (6 in order) and they were so juicy and hot! They came with a sweet and hearty dip.
