Was Steve Nadeau at The Hungry Toad a mag?
They had a little trouble in the kitchen which caused a pretty long wait.. But when the food did arrive it was delicious. The waitress was great and the manager took care of us. It tells more about a place when things go wrong than when things go right. Good job. View all feedback.

Beautiful beer selection and food. Fish and chips are tightly beautiful and crispy. Tartar was also decent, these guys know what they're doing.
The Toad is our favorite restaurant. So a warm family-friendly environment, great staff, delicious food with simple, free parking! We love their right British brunch menu on weekends and look forward to the new dog-friendly beer garden addition in the back. Long live the Toad!
The Toad earns five stars based on stamina alone the SW corners of Broadway and North Street for over 30 years, while other restaurant locations in the neighborhood over several times. It also survived the closure of the nearby Boulder Community Hospital's Broadway location for many decades. The place meets from the traditional English public house both in decoration and in food and beverage offers. The selection of beers on the design is excellent, including gems such as Old Speckled Hen. And besides a very good selection of hot sandwiches, burgers and many others, pubs like fish and chips are on offer. (Does recommend this. Unlike a real pub, however, there is table service!
Wow, what a fantastic neighborhood restaurant! We had heard that The Toad is under new management, so we decided to give it a shot. The food, atmosphere, and service were all outstanding. Here are some of our favorite dishes: nachos, fresh fish fry with homemade tartar sauce, chicken sandwich, wings, and the club sandwich with homemade ranch dressing. Boulder locals, you definitely need to check it out! We promise you won't be disappointed.
We dine there often. The food and ambiance are excellent. The chef, Carlos, has moved the menu from bar food to epicurean without changing the names on the list. The staff are pleasant and personable. The new owners have spent great effort refurbishing the entire restaurant. New kitchen and appliances, new coolers for both food and kegs. They have created a British pub environment with lit outside dining adjoining the pub and a carpeted beer garden behind the pub. Most noticeable of all is it is a neighborhood place with a warmth like that of old friends. Any time we spend there is time well spent.
Nestled in the heart of Boulder, The Hungry Toad offers an authentic British pub atmosphere that keeps locals coming back for more. With a diverse menu featuring standout dishes like fish and chips, dirty burgers, and a fantastic brunch, every visit promises satisfaction. The recently refurbished space enhances its welcoming vibe, complemented by an impressive selection of beers, including cask-conditioned options. Families will appreciate the dog-friendly beer garden and attentive service, making it a true neighborhood favorite. For British pub enthusiasts and newcomers alike, The Hungry Toad is a delightful must-visit destination.

The staff is friendly, the menu offers a great selection, and the prices are reasonable. I would definitely recommend this place!
Fantastic margaritas! The veggie burrito was both delicious and enormous—I even took half of it home. The fish and chips special on Friday night was among the best we've ever had. I would definitely recommend this place and will be back!
We pass by this restaurant all the time and always say we should give it a try. Yesterday, we finally did, and it was fantastic! The service was excellent, and the food was delicious. I ordered the California club, while my wife had the Mushroom Swiss burger. We will definitely be returning, and we highly recommend The Hungry Toad!
This place was my wellspring/sanctuary/salvation of life when I lived in Boulder from 1994-2004. I lived for Fullers on tap on Thursday nights and it got me through some very touch times! Happy St. Pat's Day Hungry Toad!
