We really enjoyed the bruschetta, which is not on the menu for some reason, but our server told us about it, and the house salad was delicious. The lobster ravioli was good, but not as flavorful as I expected. My husband enjoyed his pesto spaghetti. The pesto seemed very fresh. Service was friendly, but a bit slow. They were quite busy, so it’s understandable. View all feedback.
What Rusty doesn't like about Villa Francesca:
Went there on a recommendation. Almost no one in restaurant upon arrival made me wonder why. Very nice, very small Italian cafe. Four of us my wife and me along with couple friends. Service was actually below 1 star. We saw 3 teenage kids as staff that's it all night. They were completely untrained and somewhat shy. My wife and my friend's wife split the lobster special. My buddy and I both had individual plates. His... View all feedback.
There are no vegan-labeled items in the menu. Overall, they do not understand what milk means for free. I had to explain that butter, cheese and heavy cream diary are for the waiter in English and Spanish, so I'm pretty much it's not a language edition. It was a LOT of Hin and Her with the waiter to understand what the cook could do to a vegan meal. The waiter brought another waiter to talk to me. That's a big deal. They finally offered to make a shrimp dish for me, do they think that shrimps grow in trees?! Seriously. All her pasta have eggs. The bread is also made with eggs. Never again.
We stopped here on the Freedom Trail. We felt to eat in Italy in this sweet little restaurant. We ordered the ravioli in a sage and basil sauce and eggplant parmigiana. There were a lot of items on the menu that could be made vegan / vegetarian. Both dishes were very delicious and the service was top notch. The restaurant inside and outside is really nicely decorated.
My family ate dinner here on Christmas Eve while I visited Boston and it was fantastic. My son and I love Italian food and are happy that we eat in a beautiful Italian restaurant. This place was not disappointed. The food was fantastic. The waitress suggested a nice cheap bottle of wine that was great. We sat in the lower level of the building, which seemed like a small cellar, but the ambience was still fantastic. Each table was booked and the whole food went out looked amazing. We didn't get it, but I recommend trying the pasta dish that comes out and into a wheel of cheese (parmesan maybe). They mix the pasta while scratching fresh cheese from the wheel into it. It looked fantastic. I had the Pesto Pasta and it was delicious. Would return to this restaurant when we get back to Boston.
Amazing food. The service was top notch. The atmosphere was great. The location was walking from so many iconic Boston attractions. I had the lobster ravioli on the starter menu it was a perfect size duck dish for me.
My wife had spaghetti and meatballs and I got the lasagna. Both were really good, the Gravy (sauce) was delicious. Our best meal this trip to Boston.
