If you have been in the US for a few days and have only eaten burgers, I recommend not missing out on this restaurant. The food is healthy, without fat, authentically Vietnamese. Even the coffee is from Vietnam. The coffee is very good with ice and condensed milk. It is located on Boston Street 682. Highly recommended, they have won awards for several years in a row for the best Vietnamese restaurant. It is very chea... View all feedback.
What A A doesn't like about Pho Pasteur:
Once a upon of time this place was pretty good. Now it?s still the same old dust and decor 10 years later but the food is not what it was. Got the Pho and it tasted like feet. Everything we got tasted terrible. I don?t know how this place is still in business and not shut down by the health department. View all feedback.
Above average but not great Vietnamese food. We had been to a Vietnamese restaurant 7 years ago that was excellent, but unfortunately closed. We tried this as it was nearby. OK but not excellent. Well priced large portions. But just not as tasty as hoped.
The food and service were great but the chopsticks were all covered in mold dust. Like when we opened the paper, mold spores poofed out everywhere. We checked several and they all looked like this. They ended up having to throw out all of the chopsticks at our table and got us new ones wrapped in plastic which weren’t moldy. Really grossed out at that and it ruined my appetite. However, the food was great once I got past the mold. Would’ve been five stars if not for that.
Downtown, parking was easy to find.If you're not Asian, be prepared to wait A LONG TIME just for your order to be taken. And they won't apologize for it either so you have 2 options, get it to go or find another option.First and last time for me. Was seated right away but then left there watch people come in and get their order taken immediately.Once they noticed me taking pictures, I was THEN asked for my order. Do better
I expected a pleasant dinner given the reviews by many but it turned out to be quite disappointing. A beef terryaki starter was tender but basically without flavour and the chicken and vegetable s sweet and sour soup was also quite problematic: the tasteless industrial chicken was, unfortunately , almost expected but the pineapple pieces coming straight from the can managed to surprise me… what an abysmal cooking level. The dish remained reasonably tasty given the others spices but was overall mediocre. As for the service… yes they put the plates on the table… that’s about it. No sense of hospitality whatsoever. Not twice.
So far a great taste, fast service. We will be back next time we're in Chinatown in Boston
