While some dishes like the spareribs and Peking ravioli were lackluster, the hot and sour soup and General Gao's were highlights. The portions are generous, with some diners getting enough food for multiple meals. The atmosphere is unassuming, with friendly service despite language barriers. The menu caters to a diverse crowd, from late-night revelers to darts players looking for a post-game feast. Overall, it's a reliable option for a filling meal in the wee hours of the night, even if the bill might be a bit higher than expected.
Unassuming place with a guy who barely speaks any English and makes you wonder, Did he get my order right?? The place is a gem, one of the few places that 's still open and taking orders at 11:45 PM on a Tuesday night after playing darts, a Mecca for drunk folks, an oasis for hungry hungry hippos. Couple of people eating in, and few others came in for take out like I did. I ordered beef brisket flat noodles. Nearly two pounds of beef parts (tendons all), bok choy, and flatnoodles. It was so heavy, I was leaning one way as I walked out of the restaurant. I 'm afraid I 'm going to eat the whole thing when I get home. Night night Boston!
I took the Veggie fried rice and fried tofu (it was good and I had huge portions, enough for 3 meals all together and my boyfriend took the chicken fried rice with fried shrimps (he didn't quite like the chicken fried rice, he didn't like the chicken bits in it ??????????? all together it was good.. But the bill was much more then I expected , and they included their tip in it (without asking which I thought was TOO much!.. But when you're hungry at 2am I guess you don'thave much choices! ...... The total bill was 76
Fine for late night Chinese. Spareribs were boring and without much flavor. Hot and sour soup was very good (reminded me of Carl's Pagoda tomato soup mixed with typical hot and sour). General Gao's good. Peking Ravioli boring
