Distinctive neighborhood gem with better-than-typical gastropub fare. We loved the goat cheese balls, duck confit bao buns, cheeseburger sliders, and burnt ends, and appreciated the excellent service. Very reasonable prices too. View all feedback.
What Damaris Schaefer doesn't like about Local 149:
Was okay. Wouldn’t go back. Only high tables. My flank steak with chimichurri was seriously lacking in chimichurri, but it was cooked well. My friend was disappointed in the lamb burger. Asked for tsatsiki, got hummus. Waited 5-7 minutes for them to “find some cream downstairs” for our coffee. View all feedback.
My wife and two friends and I went to Local 149 on Sunday before St. Patrick's Day Parade started. It was our first time in the local restaurant...
We ate on the local 149 last Saturday night, we live the street and love this restaurant. We have apps and drinks and didn't have too long on...
Nice place for a busty Sunday brunch. Our party could get a stand. Honest foods mentioned were the Nachos, Mac and Cheese Fritte...
Had an excellent experience on trivia night. Food was really good and the service was attentive and friendly. Enjoy the fun vibes without it being a scene like a lot of newer southie establishments seem to be.
I am originally from the city but have been on the south shore for several years. My son just turned 17 and wanted to take him out for brunch. I extensively searched for a place that was nice, accommodating for a party of 7 and good looking menu. The initial presentation of this place checked all the boxes if so speak. We had a 2:30p rsvp and according to the website, brunch is over at 4p. Well to our surprise they ended brunch at 3p. So the we had to order from the interim menu that had like 5 options to choose from. The waitress was really sweet and very apologetic but where was the presence of management?? Did we not deserve a further explanation or some form of basic customer service? We clearly were not viewed as valued customers, especially post Covid, local business/ support is what keeps a place like this afloat. So this was our first and definitely last visit to an establishment that very well treats their patrons based on the color of their skin and not the content of their intention. Just in case it wasn’t obvious, to enjoy my sons birthday with family, food at a nice spot and some basic respect!!
