This was my first time eating here. We did take-out. I had the veggie burrito. I have to say, what a surprise! It was full of a variety of veggies, white yellow rice, and black beans. The quality and quantity was excellent. I couldn’t believe the amount of veggies were included. Looking forward to my next order! View all feedback.
What Mike Deroche doesn't like about Herrera's Mexican Grill:
Very average, standard food. You won't be devastated with disappointment, but you'll probably forget what it tasted like a few days later. I prefer the taco bowl, with the crunchy shell. Good ratio of lettuce to the more important, tasty ingredients like the black beans, cheese, and pico de gallo. During a brief visit to Boston from NYC, I happened to stop by this restaurant for lunch, and I was truly amazed by how delicious it was! I had the best tortilla soup I've ever tasted, and it was only around $7! I also sampled a bit of the chicken burrito, which was incredibly flavorful. Thank you so much for a fantastic meal!
I want to start off by saying this place is affordable and the food is made fast. My breakfast burritos was delicious and the horchata was 7/10. But overall good experience and the lady in the front was sweet?

Ordered breakfast today (veggie omelette) with a side of home fries and my eggs were undercooked, peppers were really hard as if they were literally just moved out of the fridge and the home fries you pay $2.75 for on the side was sprinkled on the sides. It was definitely not worth it and I actually enjoy their meals most of the time. This use to be one of my favorite places to order lunch while on break but their meals have significantly gotten worse, I will not be coming back.

Good ratio of lettuce to the more important, tasty ingredients like the black beans, cheese, and pico de gallo. Thankfully, the lettuce they use is leafy; they don't stick you with the bitter hard white parts of an iceberg lettuce head. Out of all their dressings, the creamy cilantro works best here. I used to use MealPass (now MealPal), where this was one of the favorites. I ended up not wanting to go to Herreras because they were often extremely busy, and the MealPal customers just push it over the top. You'll probably spend between $8-$10, which is about average for lunch in Boston.
